This inspired me to submit an image for the Macro Mondays theme this week, "Bottoms Up."

Happy Macro Monday/ HMM this week's theme: bottoms up
Bottom of a plastic water bottle. I like the way you can see the straw and some of the decorations on the outside. I love the way the brand name appears so dimensional. Check my photo stream for a full view.
Bottoms up - Macro Mondays
Wine bottle, turned upside down, with bubbles in the "punt" (indentation) of the bottle's bottom. The labels on the bottle are the "wings". This photo shows about two thirds of the 3" diameter of the bottle.
Literally bottoms up, this is the base of an Old Pulteney whisky bottle. The bottles have a seafaring theme on them due to the location of the distillery in Wick which was a major herring port at one point. The distillery is the most northerly on mainland Scotland. The seafaring imagery is carried through to the base of the bottle with what I take to be a ship's wheel set inside a guiding star or compass points.
This is a Japanese netsuke in the shape of a swan. Yes, it's ivory (pre-CITES), probably around 80 years old. A netsuke is a small sculptural object which has gradually developed in Japan over a period of more than three hundred years. Netsuke initially served both functional and aesthetic purposes. The traditional form of Japanese dress, the kimono, had no pockets. Women would tuck small personal items into their sleeves, but men suspended their tobacco pouches, pipes, purses, writing implements, and other items of daily use on a silk cord passed behind their obi (sash). The netsuke was attached to the other end of the cord preventing the cord from slipping through the obi.
This pic is taken through the base and the foot of the glass, and to my surprise, this led to a sharp pic...
Taken for Macro Mondays theme "Bottoms Up" from 10th of July. Thanks for viewing, faving and comenting !
For the connoisseur, this is an Harcourt type of Baccarat glass (from my great mother)...
shoot thru bottom of tumbler with lime in water
shot by not turning upside down but held up and shot from underneath against light from cabin window - to catch this awesome reflection thru the bottom of a single slice of lime in water - if you didnt know youd swear it was two slices.
.
and then theres the pun i hadnt thought of: this being actually a drink from which expression bottoms up originates - double entendre,eh?
thoughts?
Picture selected and PP'd in three minutes flat to make it in under the deadline. It probably looks like it.
For Macro Monday - Bottom's Up. Have a good week.
My offering for this weeks theme is the underside of our pepper pot. Took this shot this morning after breakfast, since my weekend was very busy.

Macro Mondays - Bottoms Up
I was quite busy early in the week, so I didn't even start thinking about this theme until Saturday. I struggled to think of something interesting and original. I discussed it with my wife and still had nothing. Then it hit me. I have used lavender in my Macro Mondays photos for the past two weeks, so I decided to make it three in a row. I have been transplanting lavender starts and the roots (bottom of the plant) are interesting. I took this photo in front of a large lavender plant, so there is bokeh lavender in the background. HMM
I ran out of time today after early morning volunteer work and long work hour.
Came home saw my twins drinking water in the bottoms up manner from their pink bottles. Took one of it held it up against the ceiling light and took the shot from bottom. Effect is rather nice with a mix of colors The ring you saw is the opening of the bottle.
