Happy Macro Monday/ HMM this week's theme: bottoms up

Macro Monday Bottoms Up. The bottom of a water bottle.

#MacroMonday #BottomsUp

This is the bottom of an old teapot.

Bottom of a plastic water bottle. I like the way you can see the straw and some of the decorations on the outside. I love the way the brand name appears so dimensional. Check my photo stream for a full view.

This MacroMonday theme was proving troublesome until it occurred to me that I spent a whole year photographing Adventurer Joe in my 365 series (shameless plug -

go check out my album following him around) yet within all those photos I never took a shot from this angle! What a great way to make you look at things from a fresh perspective. Also nice to break Joe out again for another photo...miss the little guy! HMM!

Bottoms up - Macro Mondays

Wine bottle, turned upside down, with bubbles in the "punt" (indentation) of the bottle's bottom. The labels on the bottle are the "wings". This photo shows about two thirds of the 3" diameter of the bottle.

Literally bottoms up, this is the base of an Old Pulteney whisky bottle. The bottles have a seafaring theme on them due to the location of the distillery in Wick which was a major herring port at one point. The distillery is the most northerly on mainland Scotland. The seafaring imagery is carried through to the base of the bottle with what I take to be a ship's wheel set inside a guiding star or compass points.

This pic is taken through the base and the foot of the glass, and to my surprise, this led to a sharp pic...

Taken for Macro Mondays theme "Bottoms Up" from 10th of July. Thanks for viewing, faving and comenting !

For the connoisseur, this is an Harcourt type of Baccarat glass (from my great mother)...

shoot thru bottom of tumbler with lime in water

shot by not turning upside down but held up and shot from underneath against light from cabin window - to catch this awesome reflection thru the bottom of a single slice of lime in water - if you didnt know youd swear it was two slices.

.

and then theres the pun i hadnt thought of: this being actually a drink from which expression bottoms up originates - double entendre,eh?

thoughts?

Macro Mondays - Bottoms Up

I was quite busy early in the week, so I didn't even start thinking about this theme until Saturday. I struggled to think of something interesting and original. I discussed it with my wife and still had nothing. Then it hit me. I have used lavender in my Macro Mondays photos for the past two weeks, so I decided to make it three in a row. I have been transplanting lavender starts and the roots (bottom of the plant) are interesting. I took this photo in front of a large lavender plant, so there is bokeh lavender in the background. HMM

My little DSC-RX100 is enjoying the summer. ;-)

I wish you all a HMM and a great week.

I ran out of time today after early morning volunteer work and long work hour.

Came home saw my twins drinking water in the bottoms up manner from their pink bottles. Took one of it held it up against the ceiling light and took the shot from bottom. Effect is rather nice with a mix of colors The ring you saw is the opening of the bottle.

For Macro Mondays - The bottom of a chilli grinder loaded with dried birds-eye chillies. The bottom of a pepper grinder / mill seems to be a common choice for today!

This is for the Macro Mondays theme of Bottoms Up. Pictured are the bottom of three nail polish bottles, each 1" across. I haven't looked at the bottom since I was picking them out and needed to see what the name of the colour was. We have "Champagne", "Iris" and the ever popular "Baie Sauvage".

The bottom of a well loved camera...
