It is kind of strange that the windows and doors were not boarded. Even the broken windows. About as far east on US 2 as you're going to get.
This is the Walled Garden at Houghton Hall.
Houghton Hall was the home of Sir Robert Walpole, Britain's first Prime Minister from 1721 to 1742.
Houghton was built between 1722 and 1735.
This site was the former kitchen garden, the present dimentions date back to the early 19th century.
It had been brought back into use in 1991, by Lord Cholmondeley as a memorial to his grandmother who died in 1989.
Each section has been divided into quarters, and then divided again.

This year's Border Fest was held in celebration of England, since they will be hosting the 2012 summer olympics.

If upon a snowy winter's day, you were to take a trip down to Sealand Road Industrial park or the Greyhound Retail Park just on the outskirts of chester city centre, you would probably be focussed upon all the buildings, shops and warehouses. But pause long enough, turn, look over the road, and you might be greeted by the beautiful scrubland, and fields. Snow capped weed's in golden sunlight, and sparkly shadows really are quite magnificent in their own right don't you think?

Specially selected passengers have taken a trip on the Borders to Edinburgh railway a day ahead of the opening of the new Scottish Borders rail line to the general public.
The owners of a Golden Ticket traveled on three trains leaving Tweedbank, Galashiels and Stow, each carrying 160 passengers.
Others making the trip were nominated by the public or won competitions.
The 30 miles of new track between Tweedbank in the Borders and Edinburgh opens to the public on Sunday.
