A closer view of the Pearl-bordered Fritillary, 13 shot stack using a reflector to bounce some light back.

Ludlow on a sunny 18th April 1981, with Class 25 No. 25219 about to depart with a Crewe - Cardiff Central service. From memory, loco-haulage was re-introduced around this time, with Class 33s being introduced later to replace the Class 25s before the Sprinter revolution took place. Nothing like being the focus of attention!:)

Pad's, somewhere in the depths of Whinlatter forest, vying for 'first go' of the stick. You can't help but do that when he makes eyes at you like that!

The light was incredibly harsh and I don't usually shoot at this time of day, but the outline of Chief Mountain was just too much to resist. Taken near the Alberta-Montana border between Del Bonita and Cardston.

Now residing in Melrose in the Scottish Borders - 40 miles from the sea :(

Finding landscape shooting very tricky and challenging with large variations in light across the image I feel I can only do HDR to bring out the details. Hats off to all those landscape photographers as seascapes are loads easier. Sky seems to be more yellow on Flickr as was more orange on my PC..

The trail is like a border between ancient worlds. The earth behind this trail was formed 40 million years ago, in warm world of near-tropical, jungle-like forests.

The colorful red and golds hills represent a world with seasonality, 33 million years ago. Then, deciduous forests covered the land.

The distant ridgelines are topped with layers of flood basalts. These lava layers represent another world in time, 16 million years ago when enormous lava flods covered thousands of square miles of savanna-like ecosystems.

colorful butterfly species in Montell, Uvalde County, Texas

Elk really likes cold paws, after running round on the beach she'll purposely after a while head for the sea, not to swim but to wet her paws!

My first real Butterfly hunt of the year and I wanted to see something special. I've visited these Pearl Bordered Fritillaries before and found them energetic - to say the least! One of the rarer species in this country because their specific habitat is disappearing. The only shots I got were on dead Bracken but I chose this over a closer shot because I liked the textures and colours in the dried Ferns. The Frits are difficult to identify from the top wing markings but I'm yet to see the underwing of this flighty species.

US-Mexico border.

Yesterday this little black pearl joined my family. She is called Zireael. She is my another Border Collie, as they get addictive! Zira is my new muse and inspiration ♥ Ciri and Zira are related, sharing same Father and Grandfather - Sorin.

This is bamboo.

I'm exhausted beyond words. I'm getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night, no more than that. I'm bombarded with school and homework. Geometry quiz, two sections of history notes and Q&A, and an entire double-page spread for the yearbook all due on Friday, none of which I have started, none of which I have the damn time to do. I'm beat, so bad I want to cry. The worst part is, when I get into my bed, no matter how early or how late, it takes me hours to fall asleep. Hours.

I want a cure.
