Marking the border between the London boroughs of Bromley and Croydon (and effectively where Spring Park becomes Threehalfpenny Wood). On the side it denotes that this is the London Outer Orbital Path with a year of 1996.

Shortly after the border checkpoint, the traffic switches sides of the road. In Laos, you drive on the right, in Thailand you drive on the left.

The actual border between Chine and Kyrgyzstan, seen from the Kyrgyzstan side. Independent travelers need to have a car waiting on the other side as no tourism vehicle can cross the border. Traveler go through the small metal door and there is no official around.

CEA Assist in Cross Border Transportation

CEA were recently contracted by a Laos transport company to assist in the transportation of several transformers which are to be used for the Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project in Laos.

The hydropower project when complete will produce 290 MW of which more than 90% will be exported to neighboring Thailand. Expected cost of the project is 900 Million USD.

The plant will consist of a main storage dam 148m in height with a 67 km2 reservoir.

The location will be based on the Nam Ngiep River in the central provinces of Bolikhamsai and Xaisomboun, situated 40 km upstream from a confluence of the Mekong River.

Construction Timeline: August 2014 to 2017/2018

CEA supplied prime movers and trailers including one of their multi-axle hydraulic Kamag25 trailers.

The trucks collected the cargo from Laem Chabang Port and made the 1260 km journey across the border deep into Laos to the construction site. CEA will provide support for the next 10 weeks.

Dale Johnson (right) is congratulated by team-mates at Borderville after scoring, in the 66th minute, Ashton United's second goal against Northern Premier League rivals Stamford. The Robins won a Premier Division fixture 2-0 to consolidate their position in the play-off places. Stamford, with just four league victories to their credit since October, are now staring relegation in the face.

I had a very difficult time deciding how to quilt the border. It was the last part I quilted. I almost left it UNQUILTED because everything I tried on scrap samples totally masked the paisley print. I tried parallel straight lines inside the border. I tried cross-hatched lines (making diamonds in the blue border). I tried a meander. The paisley print is so faint that all these techniques made the paisley print disappear and it looked like plain blue fabric, which I didn't want to happen. So, I decided to do my FIRST EVER free motion quilting and stitched around the outside edge of each paisley. For this to work without puckering the back side, I used quilting spray adhesive to make both the blue border on the front and the edge on the back stick to the batting in between. It worked GREAT and washed out later.
