... to flank a herd of sheep means to go around their side, so flanking in herding involves moving around one side of a herd of sheep so that they don't go in that direction; that side would feel "closed off" to them, and they would instinctively move in the other direction (if you flank them on the right, they would move left, for example) ...

Even if Laika is a crossbreed of Bordercollie and Retriever, she looks and behaves like a real Bordercollie. This foto is taken with fixed focal length objective (35 mm).

In the same truck as the dog in my last post. I'm guessing this is mama farm dog. Both dogs were good as gold as they waited for their owner who was doing some laundry.
