Borders Buses SN69ZNC arriving into Haddington on service 253 to Dunbar and Innerwick. 06th November 2019.

Album "Human Borders":
With the border still shut down this is about as close as I can get to photographing a train in the US. This is the massive crossing on Huron Church Road which serves as the main artery to and from the Ambassador Bridge. This is the busiest border crossing between the US and Canada, and the most economically significant one with over 1/4 of all trade between Canada and the US crossing this bridge. With the covid-19 pandemic the border has been shut down to all non-essential. Other than trucks and workers, nothing has been utilizing this bridge as seen here with a virtually empty road, mind you it was a Saturday.
Train: ETR 0900 job with ETL 107 (SW1500) and ETL 108 (GP9).

Winter
Spent the weekend with my in-laws, who live on the border of Belarus and Ukraine. Lots of activity here, but we managed to take a quiet forest walk while there.

For what are we
Without hope in our hearts
That someday we'll drink from God's blessed waters
And eat the fruit from the vine
I know love and fortune will be mine

An odd photo out of my digital slr, shot through side window of truck while moving; out of focus with motion blur.
No photoshop or other manipulation. It looks like a cyan filter and selective colour was applied, but I did neither. In my first review I passed it by, but on second look it appealed to me. I doubt I could repeat it.
Perhaps the ghosts of the landscape were just playing with me.

Paddy and Elk. Elk takes the cautious approach and climbs very methodically step by step .. Paddy just bounds up there .. and down
A record shot as didn't stay still long enough for me to get a better one! First time I've found this species in France, but in fact, this was my second one! The first did the typical 'geronimo' dive, never to be seen again! So was so pleased to spot another one a few days later!!

Well... it's the first week of 2023 & I'm already breaking the rules of "52 Weeks for DOGS"... because there's clearly no dog at all in this photo. Nope. Not one single canine in sight. Funny thing: I swear, just a moment earlier, there WAS a border collie running about, in plain view but then *poof*, he vanished on me! Weird. As my dog had disappeared, I had to settle with taking a picture across this perfectly empty field of winter wheat. I always like that little hill in the background.
Next week I'll post an actual photo of Flynn but for anyone new to the group: he's a 9yr old border collie, born in a barn up in Scotland, sold to a pet home as a puppy (good job too - Flynn has strong herding instincts but he also likes his home comforts & would be cross as two sticks about living in a barn forever). He came to me at nearly 2yrs old. His first owners couldn't cope anymore - Flynn's behaviour was pretty outrageous! Poor guy was sick but for a long time no-one knew: Flynn was pretty good at hiding the physical symptoms & instead, just went around biting people he lived with (never strangers, thankfully!). Took nearly a year but we finally identified & fixed Flynn's pain & have been slowly working through his behavioural issues ever since. We've had no major upsets in a long time, though I never take things for granted. Even by border collie standards Flynn's an eccentric, complicated character but he's also a sneaky little charmer... impossible to resist! In fact, Flynn's helped at least a couple of people get over their fear of dogs, which is quite a feat, given his history :)
