Can you see where the Irish Border runs through this photo? Looking north towards Slieve Gullion (573 metres a.s.l.), the crowning glory of South Armagh, from Dungooly, Co. Louth.
Given the snow was up to their tummies off the path forward motion was only achieved through a full body workout!
Paddy, not particularly fond of water, doing his best here to please his Dad having vaulted over onto the rock without falling in then did a 'sitting'!
When faced with a bridge like this, and when there was no traffic around, I could not resist the temptation to jump out of the car and grab a photo from the rear of the mighty E-type Jag about to head under it.
Although this looks like a section of a racetrack, (or even a video game) it is actually taken on the Sturt Highway near the state border between South Australia and Victoria. It is mainly a fruit fly checkpoint for people entering the Riverland area from Victoria. It is in Yamba, near Renmark / Paringa in South Australia. The bridge / arch was originally donated by Dunlop back when the Formula One Grand Prix race first started in Adelaide from 1985 to 1995. They continued to sponsor the upkeep of the bridge until 2000. I have read that there is some argument whether or not to keep it due to nobody wanting to pay the estimated $75,000 repair and upgrade costs.

A pseudo forced perspective shot of the 1/18th scale AUTOart model Series III E-type Jaguar, with the background of the scene at Yamba in South Australia which I took many years ago.
A young Herdwick Sheep has taken a liking to Paddy on the way down, much to his consternation as it was following him down the path ... (you can tell by his demeanour that he had been slightly embaressed) Auntie Elk came and saved him .. the young sheep obviously knew that this other one was a little bit more in the way of business!
The yellow border of this field stood out like the proverbial sore thumb, I presume it must be Oil seed Canola, the light was nice with clouds racing across the landscape, it is strange today, it`s not raining .
I never intended going up here, I'd left my wife sat in the car while I popped out to get some photo's of the Roman Fort.. the light was poor, so I thought I'd try for a higher a view, next thing I knew, I was up at the top.. This is where I have to confess that I thought I was on Hard Knott's summit. Only when I got home and was looking on a map to see where the path was up to the summit, that I realised it was Border End summit, Hard Knott's summit was only a short distance away.
If the weather hadn't have been so poor, I probably would have had a roam about. As it was, I could see rain getting nearer and my wife was sat below waiting for me.. :-)
Paddy, having a moment realising that he's just about to land on Auntie Elk .. which would be a bad thing!
