The yellow border of this field stood out like the proverbial sore thumb, I presume it must be Oil seed Canola, the light was nice with clouds racing across the landscape, it is strange today, it`s not raining .

I never intended going up here, I'd left my wife sat in the car while I popped out to get some photo's of the Roman Fort.. the light was poor, so I thought I'd try for a higher a view, next thing I knew, I was up at the top.. This is where I have to confess that I thought I was on Hard Knott's summit. Only when I got home and was looking on a map to see where the path was up to the summit, that I realised it was Border End summit, Hard Knott's summit was only a short distance away.
If the weather hadn't have been so poor, I probably would have had a roam about. As it was, I could see rain getting nearer and my wife was sat below waiting for me.. :-)
Kidu (black dog in Breton) is a 4-year-old Border Collie, abandoned, that I just adopted from an animal shelter. He is so happy, obedient, affectionate, intelligent and playful.
Here he is playing with his favorite toy nicknamed "moustache"
Paddy, having a moment realising that he's just about to land on Auntie Elk .. which would be a bad thing!

Blue markings are not natural. I have been told this may have been applied as part of a catch and release programme.
A closer view of the Pearl-bordered Fritillary, 13 shot stack using a reflector to bounce some light back.
Trucks lined up on the Georgian Military Highway, awaiting their turn to cross at the Russian Border
Little Bracken, 17 years old, pretty much deaf, very poor sight, but still possessed of attitude and just enough teeth.
The remnants of quite a substantial late March snowfall add some extra magic to this early morning scene. Despite the no-show of Spring so far this year, this shot still produced quite a varied range of attractive colours, helped out by the warm early morning light.
Mist with a rather comical look at the end of a winter sea shaking session .. almost as though she's been caught in the act lol
Between Wangaratta and Glenrowan, CLP12, GM27, S311 and CLF1 get stuck into the grade with a load of grain from The Rock in NSW bound for Appleton Dock.
After an aborted mission at Tocumwal, I quickly scooted across to the North-East to try and intercept this train coming out of NSW. Victoria and NSW dropped border control measures at the end of October due to both states achieving an extremely high level of Covid-19 vaccination quickly, bringing their various outbreaks under control. Pretty much all restrictions are dropped, or are close to being dropped, in both states. The ACT and SA are now part of the same bubble, with QLD, NT and TAS joining by 20 December. WA is holding off until next year due to having slow vaccine uptake and large vulnerable remote communities.
