Some borders are meant to keep things separated, but don't. I have no doubt that if I were to leave this house for a month, nature would reclaim it and I would not be able to find it under the vegetation when I returned.
Background: I've been thinking about the concept of "boundaries" lately, which got me to examining the borders and boundaries in my own yard.
It's weird to think that this fence separates two countries. You can't see it in this photo, but the fence looks like a spine...

Specially selected passengers have taken a trip on the Borders to Edinburgh railway a day ahead of the opening of the new Scottish Borders rail line to the general public.
The owners of a Golden Ticket traveled on three trains leaving Tweedbank, Galashiels and Stow, each carrying 160 passengers.
Others making the trip were nominated by the public or won competitions.
The 30 miles of new track between Tweedbank in the Borders and Edinburgh opens to the public on Sunday.

This is the real Stateline - the actual border of Illinois and Wisconsin. Really!
I used this closed bridge to get past the crowds and traffic, to reach South Beloit's end of the parade area.
Took Focus for some water time today. I got eaten alive by mosquitoes getting these shots. I've got calamine lotion dotted all over my arms and face. :P

Another border collie! And another mad dash to snap a few quick shots off before they disappear completely!
ITV Border's Sandy McCracken arrived at the cottage with cameraman Paul yesterday to film a short piece for the ITV programme "Border Life". The sun shone brightly and the Cruck Cottage looked fantastic following the recent repairs carried out to the thatched roof and having been freshly lime washed by our army of community volunteers.
Once again local residents came along to help us make this another "special" occasion, becoming the audience for the day. Interviews were given by Michael, Willie and Bill Lawson providing an insight into the Cruck Cottages past, present and future - they were excellent.
Our thanks to all those who once again gave their time to help us - it is, as always, greatly appreciated!
Our expert thought felt this packaging to be ‘ridiculous’, saying that the outer wrapper was doing all the work in providing a seal and barrier but that there was a lot of other packaging and noting that both packs we bought contained damaged biscuits despite the several layers of packaging.
Border’s told us that this new packaging was 20% lighter than the conventional packaging and that the lid had a dual purpose of protecting biscuits through the supply chain and extending the life of the product. It said it used the minimum of packaging needed to give a reasonable degree of protection.
