Un atardecer en la ciudad de La Plata realza los edificios justo por encima del horizonte. - A sunset in the city of La Plata enhances the buildings just above the horizon.
I liked the colours....This is one of the earliest fritillaries to emerge and can be found as early as April in woodland clearings or rough hillsides with bracken.
It flies close to the ground, stopping regularly to feed on spring flowers such as Bugle. It can be distinguished from the Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary by the two large silver 'pearls' and row of seven outer 'pearls' on the underside hind wing, and also the red (as opposed to black) chevrons around the outer pearls and the small central spot on the hind wing.

A collection of borders for use in your art.
I created most of these borders using clipart, found images and scans of funky fabric. The purple torn paper border comes from a digital collage pack , and the newsprint text next to the dominoes comes from a freebie collage sheet. I will post credits for those as soon as I rummage through my virtual stash.
I would love to see what you make using these!
SK19ELW is an ADL Enviro E40D H76F purchased new by Borders Buses in April 2019, and seen in Peebles. The Old Parish Church at the end of the High Street is the impressive building in the background.
The church was constructed between 1885 and 1887 at a cost of £9,500. It includes some features from an earlier parish church built on the site in 1784. The architect was William Young of London who designed the church in a Gothic style.

Just one of many herbaceous borders at Colclough Walled Garden, Co. Wexford. Full of sedum "Autumn Joy", Verbenas, Hollyhocks & Michaelmas Daisies. Taken back in September. I can see me spending a lot of time at this beautifully restored Victorian walled garden next year. Happy Wall Wednesday!
Abbotsford is the house built and lived in by Sir Walter Scott, the 19th century novelist, and author of timeless classics such as Waverley, Rob Roy, Ivanhoe and The Lady of the Lake. In 1811 Sir Walter bought the property which was to become Abbotsford, set in the heart of the Scottish Borders, on the banks of the River Tweed. The building of Abbotsford took six years, and was completed in 1824. William Atkinson was the chosen architect, and George Bulloch gave his advice on the furnishings, while local craftsmen carried out the work. The house was opened to the public in 1833, five months after Sir Walter's death, and has been enjoyed by visitors ever since.
