I was a little surprised to see the leather boot mounted on top of a fence post in the car park for Castle Tioram. It cast an unusual sight, caught in the strong evening light. Who found it and left it there? Who lost it? Did they realise they had lost it?

Lots of things comrade Putin is losing at the moment. And he deserves to. The West has really put the boot in to Putin. Did you know that “In the Middle East it is traditionally considered highly insulting to hit someone with the bottom of a shoe, which is considered dirty.” It's about the worst thing you can do to someone.

Personally, if I found I was in the right place at the right time, I think I would do something far worse to Mr Putin

Anyone out there claiming this boot?

My intent was to photograph the Milky Way with Boot Arch, but it didn't work out. The night sky was obscured by clouds and smoke from wildfires on the west side of the Sierra.

Not being able to kneel on my arthritic knee it can be a struggle to keep ones legs out with wide angles :-) . Having said that my boot kind of puts Guliver's travels in mind :-)

De boot heet Poel, zag hem in de buurt van Poeldijk. Er zal vast wel een link zijn tussen naam en plaatsnaam.

Omokoroa - Tauranga, NZ

In the late 1800s London was served by up to 300 000 horses, producing an average of 2 000 000 kg of manure each day. This was referred to as the horse manure crisis. Consequently many houses had boot scrapers outside the front door. This one is a fine, elegant example.
