Triplet Great Horned Owl chicks at Valley Presbyterian Church. A pair of owls has nested in the front window of the church annually since 1984. These owls were hatech on March 20 and are getting ready to fledgge and fly away.

and Yet another shot of these amazing roots. i don't know if it's something usually accepted on the Olympic peninsula, but a kind lady told me that all these dead trees on the beach are usually called "bones". they perfectly fit the description to be honest, as a lot of them are organic and white in a bizarre way. Thousand of them in places. Rialto Beach is filled with these.

'1F' 0-6-0T 'Half Cab' stands in the yard at Barrow Hill.
The loco has been purchased by the Barrow Hill Engine Shed Society and is being prepared for restoration.
Built at Derby in 1880, the engine has local history as in 1947 it was moved to Staveley (Barrow Hill) shed and worked on shunting duties at Staveley Ironworks.
Note the 41E (Staveley) shed plate on the smoke box.
Ground up bone makes a great starter for many of Chlorophina's special potions.

A iconic shot of Whitby. This Blue Whale jaw bone goes back to the days when Whitby was a major Whaling Port.
I just spent 4 days in the Czech Republic, and obviously I had to visit the famous Sedlec Ossuary, i.e. the 'bone church' in Kutná Hora.
The ossuary is located beneath a cemetary church, and it's quite small. Still some 200 000 visitors come here every year to see the bones decorating the place. And they're not few. Here you'll find the skeleton remains of some 50 000 people.

Chilly wintertime explorations over in the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge from a couple of years ago. So somewhere under I-40 on a two-track that lead to a pond/small lake and some creeks. I poked around in the woods and found the remnants of what was likely a deer skeleton.
I was able to identify the distinctive patterning on this feather as being from a woodpecker, however I have no idea what creature the bone came from. The background is an acrylic abstract painting.
I chose a vertical 'portrait' orientation for the photo to correspond with the vertical orientation of the feather, and to visually suggest a large volume of space.
3rd August 2019- David of Manchester based 'Bones Shake' brought "A scuzzed fuzzed blues" vibe to Jimmy's in Liverpool. These lads were first on by virtue of the least social media 'Likes' (a strange stipulation in my eyes, but then, i'm 48..) but they manged to captivate an early audience. Starting your set by casually wandering through the crowd with a megaphone blarring an American Police siren generally tends to grab peoples attention!!

im actually not so sure how i feel about this one....
i have been in a slump basically about everything for the past couple of weeks. stress-- its literally killing me..
i have two doctor appointments tomorrow and hopefully a CAT scan as soon as possible... i also have a rough draft of a 5 page research paper due wedsneday AND a forensics project due Friday (Ive been boiling and bleaching bones for most of the day....) ... i really feel like im about to die..

'm going to start a series about a woman who has someone she dearly loves gone for a long time during Christmas & through out the winter. Every week or so these pictures will evolve into a story & you'll find out more about this woman. This will be fun for me because I can act out something & create something amazing.
