This tree had been washed up the beach (quite some way really), it was very bone like and detail popped well in the sunset light.

This is a colourised version of Bone Work, just for fun.

...when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show...

Mishka - "Above The Bones"

"Oh let us rise above the bones, let us remember the memories..."

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Many of the skeletons in the Bone Hall have been on view since 1881—first in what is now known as the Arts and Industries Building, and since the 1960s in their current form. The skeletons represent an unparalleled study collection of every major group of vertebrate animals. (3/27/2022)

The ossuary built into the exterior wall of St Peter's Mistall, near Tiefencastel, Switzerland. It was larger but I was restricted to shooting through some rather thin railings.

Dem Bones" (also called "Dry Bones" and "Dem Dry Bones") is a spiritual song. The melody was composed by author and songwriter James Weldon Johnson (1871–1938) and his brother, J. Rosamond Johnson. It was first recorded by The Famous Myers Jubilee Singers in 1928. Both a long and a shortened version of the song are widely known. The lyrics are inspired by Ezekiel 37:1–14, in which the prophet Ezekiel visits the Valley of Dry Bones and prophesies that they will one day be resurrected at God's command, picturing the realization of the New Jerusalem.

I went to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC a few weeks ago with the family. What a neat place!!

and Yet another shot of these amazing roots. i don't know if it's something usually accepted on the Olympic peninsula, but a kind lady told me that all these dead trees on the beach are usually called "bones". they perfectly fit the description to be honest, as a lot of them are organic and white in a bizarre way. Thousand of them in places. Rialto Beach is filled with these.

After I got back home from taking photographs in Memorial Park, I finished sanding and polishing one of the chunks of dinosaur bone I received from Jim, in the trade I made in Provo, Utah, recently. This is a really nice and colorful example of gem-bone.

The bones of a story in my mind? Aren't we all just bags of bones and muscle and hormones? Yet the human brain is a beautiful thing capable of a strange love of life. I'll never cease wondering what makes our minds do the things we do. I think alot about it. Stranger still, why do we use a thing we don't understand to try to understand ourselves? Weird.

The rather macabre Bone House in Hallstatt. You can read more about it here:

Natural History Museum, London.

Song by Radiohead.

Red is my blood, white is my bone

"Thank you very much for all your faves and stay healthy" 😊

I wanted a macro-fig size skeleton to go with my growing army of the undead.

I was able to get my hands on one of the large Ninjago skeleton heads, and some time later this happened.

Those heads are too big for regular minifigs, anyway!

3rd August 2019- David of Manchester based 'Bones Shake' brought "A scuzzed fuzzed blues" vibe to Jimmy's in Liverpool. These lads were first on by virtue of the least social media 'Likes' (a strange stipulation in my eyes, but then, i'm 48..) but they manged to captivate an early audience. Starting your set by casually wandering through the crowd with a megaphone blarring an American Police siren generally tends to grab peoples attention!!

Out of curiosity, (and to see if anyone actually reads this shit..) has anyone ever seen the movie 'Midnight Express'?

I have had this one kicking around for a while, as a lot of my recent posts have been trees I thought it was time for one without a tree in sight.

Taken at Berrow sands, the wreck of the SS Nornen. It was a very windy evening and even with my big tripod is was difficult to stop the camera shaking.
