The Sedlec Ossuary is a small Roman Catholic chapel beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints on the outskirts of the town Kutná Hora in the Czech Republic. The ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of between 40,000 and 70,000 people. Sedlec became a popular place to have one's earthly remains buried after a crusader brought some earth from the Holy Land to there. Mass graves were made there after the Black Death and the Hussite wars in the 14th and 15th Centuries. Skeletons were unearthed during building of a chapel and piled up in an ossuary. In 1870, František Rint, a woodcarver, was employed to put the bone heaps into order, yielding a macabre result, as he arranged them in all kinds of artistic arrangements, including a massive bone chandelier. While hardly to everyone's liking, the ossuary is among the most visited tourist attractions of the Czech Republic, attracting over 200,000 visitors yearly.

Found more cow bones. It's getting a little creepy, finding them in the desert.

Bone Suckin’ Cuban Toasties

Ingredients:

Bone Suckin’ Mustard, 1 1/2 Tbsp.

Ham, 1 package, pre-chopped

Baguette, 1 cut into 1/3-inch-thick slices

Crisp Dill Pickles, 2, thinly sliced

Mayonnaise, 1/3 cup

Swiss cheese, 2 cups, shredded

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 500º degrees. In a small bowl, stir together the ham, cheese, mayonnaise and Bone Suckin’ Mustard.

Arrange the bread slices on a foil-lined baking sheet. Place 2 pickle slices on each slice of bread, then spread about 1 tablespoon of the ham mixture on top. Bake the toasties for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden and bubbly. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

For an extra kick replace the pickles with jalapeños. Also, because I made a double batch, I had extra of the mixture, so the next morning I made an egg casserole.

A carnivore (play /ˈkɑrnɪvɔər/) meaning 'meat eater' (Latin, carne meaning 'flesh' and vorare meaning 'to devour') is an organism that derives its energy and nutrient requirements from a diet consisting mainly or exclusively of animal tissue, whether through predation or scavenging.[1][2] Animals that depend solely on animal flesh for their nutrient requirements are considered obligate carnivores while those that also consume non-animal food are considered facultative carnivores.[2] Omnivores also consume both animal and non-animal food, and apart from the more general definition, there is no clearly defined ratio of plant to animal material that would distinguish a facultative carnivore from an omnivore, or an omnivore from a facultative herbivore, for that matter.[3] A carnivore that sits at the top of the foodchain is an apex predator.

These are the human size Glitter Bones. These are biggin's at 9cm (or about 3.5 inches) long. They have a hair clip attached to the back and are heaps of fun to wear :P

I've broken my rule by photographing the same 365 object two days running. When I decided to use the old bone I cast around for some other object as a foil. I considered laying the bone on leather, but then time ran out. Thanks to the amateur forensic archaeologists who commented on the first image I knew what tI should have used - a broken rule!

Excellent pre Memorial Day dinner. I am now ready for summer!
