”Hope. It’s like a drop of honey, a field of tulips blooming in the springtime. It’s a fresh rain, a whispered promise, a cloudless sky, the perfect punctuation mark at the end of a sentence. And it’s the only thing in the world keeping me afloat.” (Tahereh Mafi)

On a separate note....I've made a big booboo by accidentally deleting most of my photostream. Yikes. I upload all my photos to the Flickr photostream via the Flickr plug-in, in Lightroom and it was this which I accidentally deleted. Thinking cap on as to what, if anything, can be done. :-((

This view of Kilkenny Castle courtyard from inside the castle was inspired by my wife who spotted the great blurred effect the old windows had on view out. Another one I couldn’t resist to capture.

Two faces/expressions blended.

(he told me it was his favourite image of mine)

Some people wonder about the dof in this photo. Yes, it is a shallow dof image, I think something like 4.5. I also added a very light layer of gaussian blur to soften the lines. That is why the focus seems a bit soft, even on the parts that should be dead sharp. It was another of my experiments - I wanted to achieve a very smooth image.

This was a solo show in Portland, Oregon, March 28th–April 24th, 2009 at Cameraworks Gallery.

I already posted all of these on flickr, but I've re-printed some of them in different ways, and since they comprised a show, I wanted to present them here as a set.

Small Christmas lights blurred by camera movement.

Fern leaf at sunset, this autumn, in the Ardennes forest. I like sometimes to use a soft focus to obtain a blur artistic effect and thus highlight the warm colors at sunset.

Took a bunch of photos from the car as I rode with friends down to Corvallis, Oregon for an opening of a show we all had work in.

GIMP, IWarp, transform, masking, overlay, etc.

An extremely low shutter speed and spot on panning on the head gave me the blurred wings in this shot with a sharp head.

Blurry, but I kept it anyway, because shots like this are hard to capture. =)

This is what we in Sweden call a "suddmes" ("blur tit"). Any unsharp bird, not just blue tits. =)

It doesn't always work out, right?

This is something I tried last year but the weather was vile… it was much kinder this time. This is done by changing focus during the exposure, its a bit tricky, quite hit and miss (mostly miss lol), details below if you're interested:

I've posted a whole bunch of these and made an album HERE , rather than posting them one at a time and boring the pants off you all… some of you might want to have a quick look, there's quite a variety! If that link doesn't work you can click on the Focus blur fireworks album link on the right side of the page.

November as arrived it's cold. I decided to go back to some warmer times and get creative. This is the first time I've tried this...technique, so I'm sure it's not perfect. Basically compositing 2 shots, one with my daughter and one without. The shot without her has motion blur applied and then just masked her in, letting a little of the blur show through...

Blurred refraction vs previous sharp refraction drop..

blurred as my mind some days !
