Every time I’m there my memory goes back to the day in July back in 1995. The F train stop on West 8th street had a walking bridge which led to the boardwalk. My 5 year old cousin and I were walking alongside with grandfather. He couldn’t stop talking, and I was too edgy to see the beach & show off my new blue swimming suit which matched the color of my eyes (they change from light blue, to darker blue to green depending on the light & emotions). At some point I asked my grandfather if he ever misses Ukraine. He said he never does, everything he needs is here.
“What we have to remember we can still do anything. We can change our minds. We can start over. - Marina Keegan I will not say that life (or my life) is perfect, it’s not. And it’s much more sometimes than social media can show (or I would want to share) but then I walk into the Strand & pick up a book by a young girl Marina Keegan (1989-2012), and all of the sudden life doesn’t feel as hard & problems do not feel unsolvable. ❤️
She stands in shadow. The camera shifts slightly in unison with her and results in a very faint ICM (intentional camera movement) effect. Warmth permeates the scene in contrast to the shadowy atmosphere. Details emerge - just enough to give context to locale. She is framed within a frame by bold geometry - both real and painted by light.

some chapters are sad.
some happy, and
some exciting. But if you
never turn a page...
you will never know
what the next chapter holds
It was not planned & yet I ended up here... One month till my birthday (☺️) which is somewhere between July 26 & 27 because I was born early morning of 7/27 but different time zone. And yes sitting on top of Brooklyn Bridge feels absolutely incredible ❤️❤️
The glories strung like beads on my smallest sights and hearings—on the walk in the street, and the passage over the river;
The current rushing so swiftly, and swimming with me far away;
The others that are to follow me, the ties between me and them;
The certainty of others—the life, love, sight, hearing, of others. Walt Whitman
Both Walt Whitman’s poem and this place amaze me. I’m not a summer person, and I can get moody during the season, but when I’m here at sunset, it feels as if time stops. I experience so much emotion that some people say is impossible to feel after 40. It fills me with love—most importantly, a love for love & life! The sunset and the bokeh lights of the NYC skyline from Brooklyn are simply enchanting. I merge with Walt Whitman, time, and this part of Brooklyn & NYC. ❤️
This image has been chosen as a cover photo for the group ~ Traveling Around the World ~ 😊😊😊 Honored & Thankful 😊😊😊
I’m mesmerized by nature’s & men’s creations ! I really love Brooklyn Bridge but crossing it also meets my daily goal of 10000 steps !!! So it’s a great experience for both body & soul 💛

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
| Stockholm | Sweden |
Unfortunately, I didn't have my Nikon with me because I didn't think I would get there in time to catch the sunset.
If we can leave any place knowing & appreciating it a bit more than when started time spent traveled was not wasted 💙 When some people tried to discuss politics (people from other countries also) my reply was always ‘I don’t discuss politics on vacation’
"Home is not where you have to go but where you want to go; nor is it a place where you are sullently admitted, but rather where you are welcomed - by the people, the walls, the tiles on the floor, the followers beside the door, the play of life, the very grass." - Scott Russell Sanders

An upward sweep of ICM, intentional camera movement, catches the light and color of details with its strong vertical pull. Faint horizontal patterns anchor the shot. A limited color palette keeps things simple with exposure only revealing what's necessary to make the story. It's a bit mysterious but complete enough to recognize and allows a viewer to contemplate elements in context.

“It’s sad that there’s nothing we as human beings can do to freeze a beautiful moment. It’s sad how many beautiful moments have come and gone.” Melissa Broder (From Sunday New York Times)... Sometimes I search for something new, and my life feels empty without it. Other times I walk into the old moment & realize that my life feels a little empty without that inspiration. People say you have to let go of the past to move forward, but maybe that past inspired & moved you to where you are today. Can you really let it go without losing a part of yourself?
health, happiness, love ... & ... yet all these are essentials most people can’t live without ♥️
My body aches & can’t even look at the food. Hope it’s not the flu. But on the bright side using this uncomfortable home leisure time to catch up on my reading ♥️♥️ Dislike being sick
I'm not trying to be creative with the bridge, and well aware of how often this place is being photographed. Just love walking home from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Can definitely say this is my fav place in the world.
This is Grosvenor Bridge over the River Thames, London. Battersea Power Station is just out of view on the right.
I managed to get a few images before my battery died, I had forgotten to take a spare. Fortunately I had my iPhone with me.

What food is the best to celebrate 23 year anniversary?!!!? Grew up in Italian neighborhood & first (non-Russian) food we tried here... it can only be PIZZA 🍕 💛💛 What of my grandma never had relatives here? What if I only saw NYC on TV? Of course we can live our lives without certain places, people & things that we grow to love but our lives just wouldn’t be the same. My life wouldn’t be the same without this place. I would be fine but it just wouldn’t be the same.

An in camera double exposure of purple tulips against my purple @blackvelvetstyling backdrop.
More tulips...blame my husband, he bought them for me so what am I to do? ;)
Lensbaby Sweet 22 with macro filters. I wasn't too sure about the sweet 22 at first but it's fast becoming one of my favourite lenses, especially with macro filters.
EDIT: I just realised I've messed up with the numbering of my 100 x images so have changed this to number 51 instead of 28 which I'd doubled up with. I didn't want to have to go through all the images changing the numbers!
“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald
