Festive blocks, made for block printing onto various fabrics and materials at Arty Crafty in Bicester, near Oxford.
Austin's friend requested an accordion- and New York-themed bookplate stamp as a Christmas present.
I designed and created this stamp. Really like how neat it looks as well as the details of the accordion.

This is my first attempt at chine colle. I thought the rw blackbird would be a good bird to try this out on.
In case you aren't familiar with chine colle, what I did here was carve my linoleum block to make the black areas, applied ink as usual, then carefully placed the cut bits of red Japanese paper (with glue on the back of them) face down on my printing block in their appropriate areas. I then pressed the block to the paper, simultaneously gluing down the red bits and applying the black ink to the paper. Voila- blackbird with fancy red shoulder epaulets.
Color block in progress for our new "GARDEN" woodcut print! Final paper size will be 18" x 24" ~ this block will be rolled up with a blue ink to make the colors blue, green, brown, and purple!

some block printed cherry blossoms pasted on a stamped paper, i made years ago. all together mounted on an old canvas..
In my imagination I compose gardens made of stripes and squares with different plant textures. This print is a small part of such a garden. 8x10 print

Here's a better photo of the bench I made recently.
It's constructed from scraps of wood I've had laying around my house.
Most of it is made up of personal art pieces that either didn't make the cut or that I've had for too long.
I'm going to paint the base a different color when I can finally settle on one, haha. ;)
Blogged.
All carved! Just 3 color blocks to go and this whopper is complete!
