For this quarter of the 4x5 bee Diane asked for blocks in aqua, turquoise, yellow and grey.

I used a paper-pieced pattern from eQuiltPatterns called "Wichita Planes."

Illinois 13 Ali Stark gets past the block of Maryland 2 Hailey Murray and 4 Emily Fraik. Illinois 18 Allison Palmer, 3 Brandi Donnelly and 12 Katie Stadick are pleased with the play.

Demolished early 80's. Note building upper left being torn down for Target Center.

Much as I may sometimes hate it, it is part of a process I love.

I loved making the x and + block for Megan's month in the Sew Beautiful Bee so I decided to make five more for the ladies in my hive of the 4x5 bee, 3rd quarter. LOVE how they turned out!

I was originally going to make modified 'retro flowers' blocks, but I'm really in love with this quilt by She Can Quilt, and liked the blocks better when the petals/wings were connected. I love that she calls them butterfly blocks.

And I seriously want to make a whole quilt out of these. Swoon.

Monthly Block Swap. Debbie requested a brown and pink block.

This is currently my favorite pattern.

These printing blocks were and continue to be used to produce beautiful printed patterns on many of the different silk and cotton fabrics you find everywhere in India.

thought blocking

Thought blocking, a phenomenon that occurs in people with psychiatric illnesses (usually schizophrenia), occurs when a person's speech is suddenly interrupted by silences that may last a few seconds to a minute or longer. Blocking is often brought on by questioning or discussing something of particularly large personal significance. When the person begins speaking again, after the block, they will often speak about a subject unrelated to what was being discussed when blocking occurred.

When doctors diagnose thought blocking, it is important that they consider other causes of pauses in speech and expression, such as petit mal seizures, hesitation brought on by anxiety, or slow thought processes.

On a visit to Kaiapoi looking for Giraffes November 28, 2014 New Zealand.

Kaiapoi is located approximately 17 kilometres north of central Christchurch, Kaiapoi takes its name from the Māori pā (fortified village) which was built just north of the site of the current town around the year 1700 by the Ngāi Tahu chief Turakautahi. Eventually to become the largest fortified village in the South Island it lay on the site of a stronghold of an earlier tribe, Waitaha whose history and traditions Ngāi Tahu eventually adopted.

Giant fibreglass Giraffe sculptures, reaching 2.5 metres high, are now standing tall on the streets, parks and public spaces of Christchurch and surrounding areas until 24 January 2015. At the end of the public art exhibition, in February, the Giraffes will be auctioned so we can all be part of raising money for local charities and turn the city’s Summer of fun into a helping hand for those who are in need.
