A short walk on Reiss Beach this morning before the sun was hidden by cloud from the west.

Much colder on the East coast than on the North.

"The young mad scientist first alphabet blocks", Xylocopa design.

Originally built with agatized wood blocks and mud mortar, Agate House likely housed a single family sometime between 1050 and 1300, during the Late Pueblo II - Pueblo III Periods. The scarcity of artifacts suggests a relatively brief occupation. Due to its relatively large size, Agate House may have served as a central gathering place.

Indeed, Agate House was a part of a much larger community. When first recorded by archeologists in the 1930s, the petrified wood construction of Agate House was thought to be unique. Since then, hundreds of similar petrified wood structure sites have been found in the park, indicating a history of humanity as colorful and diverse as the building blocks of Agate House.

Finished blocked Shawl.

I have moved each hexagon inside the pined area to help even out the shapes.

With your fingertips move-massage the fabric to relief any stress points. You should feel no snags otherwise you may have pined out the fabric to taught.

Five building blocks and their reflection.

This block is for Anna in the Bee Lovely Quilting Bee. She chose the "map of the states" block by Oh Fransson for her block. The fabrics she sent to all of us are great! I enjoyed seeing all of these fabrics in person. Some of them I've never seen before. Really excellent. Can't wait to see the whole quilt together.

This block is approximately 6x6, signed, numbered and made to hang...or place...or use as a coaster. Whatever you see fit. Cheap and lookin' for a good home.

You can look in the "art?" set and see more. Once sold however, I delete them.

All blocks available on my Etsy (link on my profile).

I have pieced together my Great Canadian Stash Busting bee blocks with some additional blocks and finished the top!

* Finishes at about 92" by 96"

* I chose scrappy star blocks for my bee blocks - originally from a Clover and Violet tutorial

* The colours were inspired by the palette from Wild and Free, a fabric collection by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics

* I received 12 blocks, each 12″ finished size, then made a whole bunch more!

* After making all the small blocks, I made three super sized blocks for the centre.
