My first (and only for a while - must get my other commitments done!) block - and I love it! Not my usual colours, but this is going to be a pretty, pretty quilt :o)
Block designed by Cherri House
Fabric Range: Central Park by Kate Spain
Loved this block! Came together quickly and easily. I decided to add in some Kona in Celery, as the other blocks so far all have a solid, and the block looked a little busy with all prints.

Somehow I left out the fact that this is a wine box. And not just any wine box. A Gundlach Bundschu Wine box circa 1986. It was given to me by www.zerotoboston.com in 1997, and in 1998 I visited Gundlach Bundschu with my friends Norman and Joan, returning home to South Carolina to realize what this box was. A fantastic winery! A fantastic box!
Block 4 tested my patience because the pieces were so small. I am not very good at handling little bitty pieces. It was worth it though as the block is a great pattern.
Block #2 for January . Las Vegas Group. Modern Stash Quilting Bee . ( the yellow floral in the centre squares is a vintage sheet )
I bought this one in 2019. Overall nice block - not as crisp as LEGO but OK. However the stickers were horrible and don't stick well especially curved areas - so need some clear tape to fix them properly. Anyway, I love Flying Tigers so all is forgiven!
Union Jack inspired block for seaferncottage.
Asked for blue, orange, white.
The horizontal/vertical stripes happily worked out through a total fluke!
Made to practice the Krenov laminated method of building planes. Beech with 1" Hock iron. Didn't expect much from my first effort but this seems to work just fine. Next will be a full size smoother in quartersawn English oak.
Between work and being on call I just can't get any free time to sew. Here is a progress picture though. I failed miserably at fabric painting so I opted for fusible applique of the letters. The red on gray had very little contrast so I brightened things up with some white highlights. I cheated a bit on the fabric piles. I needed to speed things up a bit so it's not exactly as Muriel had it laid out. I'd say the fabric prices in the Netherlands are better though! Maybe I need to plan a trip over there :D Hoping to finish this later tonight or tomorrow.
