The light started blinking soon after I began crossing. No problem, I'll just continue on my way.
A car aggressively nosed in to turn right. I was in its way and continued walking. She honked. I flipped her off.
She returned the gesture and I kept walking. As soon as I'd passed, she gunned her engine, turned right, and screamed "YOU SEE?! YOU SEE THE SIGN?!"
This was the little red hand, still blinking away. I had seen the sign. It means "continue crossing," according to the signs on the crosswalk buttons, and that the signal is about to change.
Apparently she had missed the large sign she'd just passed that reads, "STATE LAW STOP FOR PEDESTRIANS IN CROSSWALK".
So I am smarter than at least one person I've come across today. Or maybe dumber, considering she was in a car.
These are battery powered Christmas lights that I found at Target. Battery holder takes 4 AA cells and has an on/off switch. No batteries included - so I put in some rechargeables, and so far the batteries have been running 2 days. The pattern constantly changes, from a slower color change to a rapid blink. Each "snowflake" changes from blue to red to green to gold to orange - very cool stuff. It would be nice to be able to tell it to slow down the blinking to a more mellow speed!
