“Have you seen Ellie this morning, Bertie?” Asked Posh Bear as he sat down beside his friends.
“No, Sky and I were just saying that we didn’t expect to see her for a little while yet.”
“That was some celebration party though.” Said Sky blinking in the bright sunlight.
“It certainly was. I’m just grateful she got the ellicopter back again.”
“She is getting quite forgetful these days, especially for an elephant. Imagine forgetting not only where she left the ellicopter, but that she had let Wellington Bear borrow it to visit some relations in New Zealand.”
“Yes, but not only that, for she had been adamant that she had left the control inside the ellicopter, which she had clearly not done.” Said Bertie.
“No, Wellington had got them all the time and he was in New Zealand. He told me that it didn’t take long to get there for he found a short cut.” Said Sky.
“That’s right, only took him about twenty minutes, and the new navigation equipment took him right to his relation’s house.” Added Bertie.
“Did it use much fuel travelling that fast though?” Asked Posh.
“Just two chocolate buttons each way, which considering things, isn’t that bad.” Said Bertie.
“Very impressive, mind I didn’t think it is a good idea to waste good chocolate on unnecessary trips in future.” Said Sky firmly.
“Indeed, waste is not a good idea when we talk about honey or chocolate.” Confirmed Bertie.
“Hello chaps, how is everyone today?” Asked Wellington as he sat down beside them.
“A bit fuzzy if honest Wellington, how about yourself?” Asked Posh.
“Good, fine thanks. Used to having a few snifters and going to parties, don’t you know? Doesn’t seem to affect me these days. Think the brain is immune by now, but I’m surprised you’re feeling a touch fuzzy though old chap. I say, our Ellie was in a bit of a state though, poor old girl.”
“I think she was just so happy to have her ellicopter back so she didn’t have to keep on looking for it.”
“Strange that, her forgetting she had let me borrow it. Mind, I was somewhat shocked that she had agreed to lend it to me in the first place.”
“So was she, so she said. I can’t see her letting anyone else borrow it for quite some time to come.” Said Posh.
“Well, that’s where you’re wrong old chap, she is lending it out again tomorrow to Linda Bear. She has a quite exciting little trip planned so I understand.” Said Wellington firmly.
“Really? I didn’t know anything about this trip; do you know where she is going?” Asked Sky.
“Yes thanks.” Replied Wellington.
The three bears sat waiting for him to carry on but he just sat there smiling and looking at them.
“Wellington, any chance you telling us where Linda Bear is going?” Asked Sky.
“Certainly, if you think you may be interested. She is going to be taking most of the bears to this new place she has found for a picnic, and Ellie is one of the guests of honour. I understand that she has acquired quite a few jars of the most delicious honey to share around.” Said Wellington licking his lips.
“I didn’t get an invite, did you Bertie? Posh?” Asked Sky.
The two bears both shook their heads and looked sad.
“Well, there is loads of room in the new ellicopter if you guys want to come, don’t you know? Should be a ripping time.” Said Wellington.
“We’ll think about it, Wellington, do you know where she got this delicious honey from?” Asked Sky.
“Yes thanks.” Said Wellington smiling smugly.
“Was it local by any chance?” Asked Posh
“Oh yes, very local. In fact, one couldn’t get more local.” Said Wellington still teasing.
The three bears looked at one another with one thought, their fresh supplies had arrived just yesterday and they had a feeling that they now might have fewer jars than they thought.
“I think we need to check a few things out, if you’ll excuse us, Wellington.” Said Posh Bear looking worried.
“Yes, no problems at all, I thought you might say that. See you all later, I expect, don’t you know?”
Posh Bear, Bertie and Sky walked away in deep discussion.
“I think we need to have a chat with Linda Bear, but first we should check our own honey stocks just in case.” Said Posh Bear.
Wellington Bear watched and chuckled knowing that they would really enjoy the surprise that Linda Bear was arranging for them, but that was for tomorrow and another story.

heck its been a long day today (sunday) What with spending the morning and afternoon gallivanting around I decided to go and do something that was either going to hurt my feelings and set me back a step or two or it was going to be OK.
So what silliness Had I planned for myself? Well some of you might have read on my last post that I wasn't sure if I was going to a dance class.
Yep you did hear that right. I/Helen attended a dance class to learn 40/50s dances. I had such a fab time was totally useless and cant remember a single step but it was great fun.
Ok it wasn't that bad I did remember a few steps in the end lol, The people where so welcoming I just sorry for the poor lad teaching us girls for he was all off five foot nothing that wasn't a problem until he got to me who stands at five ten/eleven without heels. Bless him he did his best with me.
Anyway looks like they want me back next week and have asked if I would le to go to a 1940s weekend at a local railway line, No Cindy not that one. Think I have found a new hobby that both sides of my life might like.
Yes I did wear this outfit :-) .My makeup had been on all day and has stood up well to both shopping and dancing this photo was taken when I got home a few hours ago hence the silly pleased as punch smile.

The Blinking Eye of the Tyne. Tonight I drove a long way home so that I could get a nice photo in the early evening light.
Typical isn't it I spend two days sorting a warm weather outfit and it rains. Still being a stubborn cow this is what I am wearing today and the fur faux fur coat just incase it gets cold
I was down on the quayside in Newcastle this morning and was treated to the raising of the Millennium bridge to allow the boat in picture to travel under. It's called the blinking eye as this is what it resembles as it is raised and lowered, a fantastic feat of engineering brilliance.
The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian and cyclist tilt bridge spanning the River Tyne in England between Gateshead on the south bank, and Newcastle upon Tyne on the north bank. The award-winning structure was conceived and designed by architects Wilkinson Eyre and structural engineers Gifford.
Six 450mm diameter hydraulic rams (three on each side, each powered by a 55kW electric motor) rotate the bridge back on large bearings to allow small ships and boats (up to 25m tall) to pass underneath. The bridge takes as little as 4.5 minutes to rotate through the full 40° from closed to open, depending on wind speed. Its appearance during this manoeuvre has led to it being nicknamed the Blinking Eye Bridge.

A bicycle with a blinking headlamp looks like Morse code for zero to the left of the camera. One really long zero but sometimes you have to make a point :)
f/22 to get the long exposure and to make the lamps to look like stars. The trade off is a loss of sharpness on my crop sensor.
For this shot I'm on the Hawthorne Bridge over the Willamette River facing downtown Portland, Oregon, USA.
Just cant get enough of these only when I got home did I notice this beauty was actually blinking lol .Better luck next time !!

I should explain for those not so familiar with small town America.
There is the ubiquitous water tower; the railroad track; road signs indicating east, west, north or south and the almost ghost-town look. Another very common visual icon is the blinking light strung across the main cross road. They blink 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This one is in Lovelady, TX, pop 587.
It is no great surprise that James McMurtry has used the symbolism in one of his spot-on stories of modern 'Murica :
"There were pitchers on the tables and kids running 'round

Because Owls have superb night vision, it is sometimes assumed that they cannot see well in strong sunlight. This is not true, because their pupils have a wide range of adjustment, allowing the right amount of light to strike the retina.
Owls have 3 eyelids: The upper eyelids close when the owl blinks, and the lower closes when the Owl is asleep. The third eyelid is called a nictitating membrane (as seen in this photo), which is a thin layer of tissue that closes diagonally across the eye, from the inside to the outside - this cleans and protects the surface of the eye.

I'm not sure if this one will become a Breckenridge tradition or not, but for the past couple of years we've made our way to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for lunch at least once. Despite being a chain, the atmosphere here really fits well with the mountain experience. The menu and food are good as well. It's not Louisiana, but it's about as close as you get at 9,500 feet.
This year Paige picked up a Bubba Gump gift cup filled with ... well ... some blue fruity stuff that she seemed to enjoy. The bottom was filled with various blinking LED lights. That means I'll have to resist the urge to take it apart and see how it works.

OMG this dress is blinking tight. Not uncomfortably so but tight none the less.
I believe its a UK 14 so in this style of dress its probably closer a large 12/14 in the waist department, hence why I look like I have an amazing figure. Don't worry its terrible from the back as my flab is bulging over the top lol. No honest it is and I have the photos to prove it and might even post one or two.
The thing is a year ago I wouldn't have stood a chance of getting done up at all. so yay in a way I am happy. Makeup was just thrown on also. only took ten minuets
