The frustration of stop & go traffic eased by the view of beautiful sunset falling over the city as a blimp circles nearby.

Missed a great sunset by about ten minutes. There was still some light fading into the horizon, so I zoomed in on the blimp hangar across the Pasquotank River and captured the last of the color.

You never know what you'll find when you go hunting for birds!

This looked like it was going to be a beautiful day; however, as this blimp was flying overhead the sky quickly darkened and it became extremely windy. The change was very dramatic and I knew that it was going to rain and I was quite a way from where I'd parked my car. I just made it back to my car when it started to pour, putting a damper on my free morning for taking photos.

I went to a fog shrouded Abbotsford Airport to see the Goodyear Blimp. I had to circle the airport looking for spots to get a clear view of it.

Thoughtfully described, "Sorry if this ends up in your yard!"

Thanks Phate Shepherd!

I always wanted one of these... I just didn't know yet.

While I was going from San Francisco to Los Angeles by the Hwy 1, this blimp fallowed me all the time. This wonderful beach is somewhere between Carmel and Santa Barbara, California - USA

The Goodyear Blimp aerobatic team put on a breathtaking aerobatic show at AirVenture 2025. I tried not to blink because I didn't want to miss anything!

Met Life Blimp pilot was having a rough day with gusty winds, a bit up and down and slow forward speed, but interesting shot, found in North Carolina.

During WWII this site, now the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami-Dade County, Florida, was a base for US Navy Blimps. This tank should be from that era. The site is abutting the Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, also known as Zoo Miami, A portion of the area near here was also the staging site for the US Bay of Pigs (Cuba) invasion in the Spring of 1961.

The Goodyear dirigible stayed all day around my window. It didn't seem to be an advertising thing. It moved slightly to the points of the compass as if it was photographing or surveying the area. Perhaps because they are building rapid transit on the main road.

Heading south over the Hudson.

It's safe to say that winter's here - at least for this week. These kind of conditions, when cold arctic winds pass over the Great Lakes to the west of us and kick up the lake effect snow machine, are normal for us. However, it's much later than usual.

After three days of it, one tends to get a bit of cabin fever. Consequently, you grab a toque, put on enough layers to look like a blimp, and venture out to enjoy it. That's exactly what my wife is doing here, when she climbed out of the car to photograph a row of trees behind us - though I'm not so sure about the enjoyable part. I caught her in the side mirror of the car while sitting comfortably in the warm interior.

Spare no taxpayer expense! The boys of the GCPD need their trusty Blimp at their side! You'll sleep better at night knowing they're up there every night at great expense and you'll sleep all the better because of it!

I love the word blimp, so strange, not sure why - my odd sense of humour I suppose. This was taken from the platform at Wigan North-West railway station, awaiting the arrival of the 12:01 service to Liverpool.
