TRIPLER ARMY MEDICAL CENTER -- Sumo-Nan, the contractor in charge of the renovation of the Tripler Barracks, here, hosted a blessing at the facilities, Nov. 9. Joining the celebration were Troop Command leaders, TAMC staff and their families along with Corps of Engineers-Honolulu District employees, who oversee the contract. Construction began in late summer 2011, and is expected to be complete in early 2014. The construction is part of the Army's Whole Barracks Renewal Program, and rooms meet the Army's "1 + 1" standard; each Soldier has a private room and two Soldiers share a common/kitchen area and bathroom.
I have decided to start a photography project this year, in which I'm going to take one photograph each week as a way of counting my blessings.
Over Easter, we climbed Glyder Fach. This picture gives a fair idea of the conditions on the top. It had rained, and the scree and stones were wet and slippery. We could not find the path from the summit. After half an hour, we decided to re-trace our steps, and found our way back again. That in itself is a blessing, but having somewhere dry and warm to go back to was even more of one.
