It's raining this morning in the foothills--a cool life giving rain that will finally close the book on this year's fire season. With the rain, comes a great sense of relief and a deep feeling of gratitude that we've been granted another year in this beautiful place on earth.

that I got to see these great Barn Owls, life birds for me, after a really hard week. Thankful beyond words ...
Sometimes that last 15 minutes of sun before it drops below the horizon can be the most exciting of the day, especially when blessed with a train or two. Such was the case on March 28, 2018 as a westbound UP automotive train races into the setting sun at Sibyl, AZ on the Sunset Route. Double blessed, we would also get an eastbound before the sun disappeared.
