My heart goes out to those who find Christmas and the New Year a lonely and difficult time. We are so lucky to be visiting family tomorrow - I am a lucky woman!

One of my favorite shots/photo sessions was with this fellow back in April. I was deep in the woods of Muscatatuck NWR and he (an assumption) came right in on my location and landed. Many times I have approached owls or simply lifted my camera only to have them fly in the opposite direction and out of sight or attempt to hide in the shade of a pine tree.
When they land right in front of you, in perfect lighting it confirms that you are blessed!
