Yeah I won't sing the whole song, however its a bloody ear worm whenever I'm there. As it does have some resounding impact and relevance. However...not going to Toto this along.
Here's a lovely male ele hanging around on the Mara munching on grass and trees. Obviously a storm is happening but it makes for a heck of a background.
Very close at 16mm
We went to the Lock and Dam at Starved Rock State Park in Utica Illinois. Its where all the eagle go when the river starts to freeze over. We saw about 25 or 30 eagles today. The guy at the Lock and Dam Visitor Center said they had upwards of 60 Bald Eagle out there yesterday.
Bless this house and all who may enter here..
"Touch the lintel and touch the wall
Nothing but blessings here befall
Bless the candle that stands by itself
Bless the book on the mantle shelf
Bless the pillow for the tired head
Bless the hearth and the light shed
Friends who tarry here, let them know
A three fold blessing before they go
Sleep for weariness - peace for sorrow
Faith in yesterday and tomorrow
Friends who go from here, let them bear
The blessing of hope, wherever they fare
Lintel and windows, sill and wall
Nothing but good, this place befall"
So mote it be ♥

This shot was actually taken by my grandson Michael, using my other camera. Bless him, he did all the carrying of my big lens and took some great shots as well
Hoping each child will be blessed this Christmas, with safety and happiness. I know in my heart that will not happen, but maybe the more we hope and pray..and help..the numbers will increase. It seems like there is always more we can do for the impovershed of this world, and even this country. There is so much I could do, but I don't always do it. Perhaps someone should pray for our souls, rather than theirs.
This is a painting I did years ago and scanned onto my computer.
God bless Texas. And for once, and I never thought I'd say this, God bless Governor Rick Perry.
From governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/12227/

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”
A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government’s constitutionally designated powers and impede the states’ right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.
It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.
HCR 50 is authored by Representatives Brandon Creighton, Leo Berman, Bryan Hughes, Dan Gattis and Ryan Guillen.

The thursday before father's day we had a really bad storm come through my part of texas. We has had straight line winds from 91 to 115 miles per hour. They were as strong as category 2 hurricane. After the storm over 250,000 people where out of power, some still don't have power. I thank all the people that have helped with restoring services, opening up cooling shelters, making sure everyone that needed it had access to food, water and a place to get out of the heat. Last friday started a heat wave that saw the heat index reach over 115 degrees. Line workers from all over the country have come down to Texas to help us recover and get back on our feet. We thank you all so much for what you have done!

"Forty Hour Week (For A Livin')"
There are people in this country
Who work hard every day
Not for fame or fortune do they strive
But the fruits of their labor
Are worth more than their pay
And it's time a few of them were recognized.
Hello Detroit auto workers,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line
Hello Pittsburgh steel mill workers,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line.
This is for the one who swings the hammer,
Driving home the nail
Or the one behind the counter,
Ringing up the sale
Or the one who fights the fires,
The one who brings the mail
For everyone who works behind the scenes.
You can see them every morning
In the factories and the fields
In the city streets and the quiet country towns
Working together like spokes inside a wheel
They keep this country turning around.
Hello Kansas wheat field farmer,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line
Hello West Virginia coal miner,
Let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin',
Just to send it on down the line.
This is for the one who drives the big rig,
Up and down the road
Or the one out in the warehouse,
Bringing in the load
Or the waitress, the mechanic,
The policeman on patrol
For everyone who works behind the scenes.
With a spirit you can't replace with no machine
Hello America, let me thank you for your time...

Dear Lord,
Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny little Prayer
Keeps running through my head:
God bless all my family
Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm
And safe from harm
For they're so close to me.
And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do;
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Please bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's unusual
To Bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second
While I explain it to you, Lord.
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends;
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my friends.
I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.
By faith is how I know them
Much the same as you.
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendships grew..
Please take an extra minute
From your duties up above,
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love.
Wherever else this prayer may reach
To each and every friend,
Bless each e-mail inbox
And each person who hits 'send'.
When you update your Heavenly list
On your own Great CD-ROM,
Bless everyone who says this prayer
