SMALL dumpy wader that is associated with coastal habitats. Feeds by running along sand, gravel or estuarine mud as if powered by clockwork and then standing still for a second, to pick up food from the ground. Seen from the sea wall Reculvers, where their was a flock of about 20.

I pass so many farms on rural drives and always admire and respect how truly hard the farmers work. Their labor is our bounty, wonderful fruits and vegetables. They work from sun up to sundown and now more than ever are struggling. We have been in a drought for many years.

I’d been meaning to pay a visit to the beach at West Wittering in Sussex for some time. I’ve seen lots of beautiful images of subtle patterns in the sand and gentle pastel colours in those big skies. The weather had other ideas for my visit though and it was proper blowy. As one door closes, another one opens. Photography was a little tricky and I also had to contend with sand storms and bright sunlight (EM121326)

It was raining again today and Stanley got very wet and muddy, but he had great fun.
Here we have before and after shots - HSS!
l didn't know it at the time...but the couple you can see ahead took half an hour to get to were l was standing through the ankle deep mud...Generally it would take 3 minutes to get to me from where they were...when they arrived l was astounded to see they were both around 85 years old if a day, and were holding each other hands...Bless...we chatted for a while and they went on their merry way through the woods which was in an even muddier state than from whence they'd come, l gave them a 10 minute start and l followed them just incase one of them took a flyer and they needed help. Bless

This is the matching sundog to the one I uploaded yesterday.
Note the red band is on the other side. The red is always closest to the sun. Unfortunately I couldn't get a shot with the sun in the middle and both sundogs - no fisheye lens and a neighbour's house getting in the way.
