This was a build I have been working on for a little while and finally got finished. I am in no way a castle builder, but I enjoy dabbling in it from time to time.

This build was inspired by two people, the first being an artist named Tuomas Korpi. I found one of his paintings while searching for inspiration and it was fantastic. A huge help in building this. The second is

Legonardo Davidy, who's build "Serenity" was also a big inspiration.

This is a render, built between LDD and Mecabricks, then rendered in Blender.

Thoughts and constructive criticism are welcome! Thanks for looking!

"The grid.....a digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer; What did they look like? Ships, motorcycles, with the circuits like freeways. I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then one day, I got in". Kevin Flynn

T.R.O.N has always been one of my favorites (either one really). I thought I should add a version of Kevin Flynn's bike to my collection. The model is mostly possible, with the exception of a piece at the back that may need a sticky solution (gasp, kragle!).

Thanks for looking! Also, hope everyone has had a nice Easter (and/or) Passover :)

A 1/43 scale Kawasaki Ninja, based on Ron_Dayes original design from a few years back.

If you like the build, go check out where it originated! Ron is not currently building, but there is still tons of inspiration on his page!

This is an edit to that, just trying to add some more small details (handlebars, seat, exhaust, back-light). I will upload render later to show the back :)

This is also my first attempt in awhile at photo-realism. It is quite tricky to perfect, but I feel like I am getting to a good point.

Thanks for the recent support, and I have some cool projects in the works I can't wait to get feedback and tips on.

Thanks for looking!

(Render made with LDD-Mecabricks-Blender)

A collab myself and Ron put together over a week or two.

It shows off an impressive Porsche Ron made, fitted with some cool exhaust and aero parts.

My car is The Koenigsegg Agera, decorated with some classic Swedish racing colors and an Octan sponsorship.

All of this was built in 1/43 scale, as you can see from the minigigure to car comparison.

Thanks for looking!

A small scene to let me practice rendering with Blender 2.8 :)

I used the Mecabricks advanced addon, then composited the image in Blender. Finally, I exported to GIMP 2.10 for some final tweaks.

This is merely an attempt to improve my rendering skill, so I can take my builds to the next level with at least sub-par presentation ;P

At one time the fastest car in the world, Bugatti shipped out a new standard. Also, it's frickin hard to build in Lego :P

This is based off of Ron_Dayes Bugatti, which he said he thought of as a Chiron. I thought using his base, I could make a convincing Veyron to join the collection.

I started with the front, changing out piece after piece. About half-way through, I worked on the back, giving it that iconic engine cover and round taillights. Finally, I masked out an IRL Veyron grill and put it into the .dae file.

If you like this, or cars in general, you should check out Ron's page. He spent years working on this scale, and has some really cool Mocs...

In the busy everyday life of a simple ruler, being taken from place to place is a mere inconvenience. But who supplies the carriages to the rich and powerful? Meet Chad, the best Used Cart Salesmen in the area. No King Rating required, and all offers are considered!

So here it is, my first entry into the CCCXVI. I decided to start simple, just to get a good render setup going and figure out the contest workings. But I plan to enter as many categories as I have the time for :)

I want to give Isaac Snyder props for the tree design. I don't know if it was an OG design, but I first saw it in his builds :)

Thanks For Looking, and Good Luck to everyone in the contest!

(This is still a WIP, so suggestions are appreciated)

Ever since it was announced awhile back, I have wanted to try making a Mclaren Senna. It has some really complex shapes, and a very "hill-climb" vibe to it.

I started by going through my other car files and seeing which technique best matched the body style, then made a few adjustments. By far the hardest part was the sides, which I am still working on and tweaking.

In the coming weeks, I may post a lot just due to the amount of project ideas I have been saving.

Thanks for Looking!

Another render of my new A-wing design, in this case with landing gear and a pilot.

I should have a breakdown of the construction up in a few hours, and any ideas for improvement are welcome!

Thanks for looking!

I'm not much of a space builder, but I had a lot of fun making this little fighter ship. I may try to do more in the future.

Thanks for looking!

A few of you may remember that I made an A-wing over a year ago. And I won't say it was bad, just that my building technique has changed quite a bit from that point (Here is a link, if you want to compare).

Now, with a new style, and understanding of both GIMP and Blender, here is a WIP version.

I am still working on my rendering accuracy, trying to achieve that realistic look.

Also thanks to Marius for explaining his after-burner technique, quite simple yet really good. You can see his awesome ships here:

Another go at the 370z, and this time I think I may leave it alone for awhile (meaning about a week :P).

This has been a very long-winded project, this being the third version I have posted, and probably the 1,492nd I have actually put together. This version is a lot shorter, and features the more realistic slanted roof.

On the side of my posts, I have been quite busy lately, and I'm afraid it will continue that way for the next few months. However, I do still get on Flickr a lot and I still enjoy seeing comments and ideas for projects.

Thanks for Looking!

I'm Alive!

So yes, I took a short (very long break) from the bricks. Not without reason, life has proven to get in the way of my favorite hobby a lot over the past months....

But that said, I haven't lost the drive to build and have even been working on some projects, such as re-working my Koenigsegg. I hated how my last version looked messy from the sides, so after a lot of fiddling, I have come up with a nice, smooth side :)

If anyone wants to see my first Koenigsegg attempts, here are some links

Talking with Ron_Dayes a few months back, we both mentioned how cool the Lego booklet photos used to be. Large, brick-built settings for all those little sets you could buy. After some brainstorming, Ron had the idea for a beach scene, a nod to the Paradisa and Town themes of old. With some incredible building from Ron and 18 hours of rendering, here it is!

If you look close, there are a lot of old sets remade in here, including the Sand Dollar Cafe, the Beach Hut, a Town Delivery Van, and so on. There are also two new cars for the collab, a Nissan Skyline R31, and an awesome Jeep/Land Rover that Ron made.

This is part of an on-going project that Ron and I are doing, trying to create a fun Lego world in 1/43 scale. If you are interested in trying your hand at it, shoot me a message, and go check out Ron's feed for some great scaling ideas!

I have to give a huge thanks to Ron on this project, he spent hours building most of this great scenery, and his cars are just perfect as always!

This was rendered using the fantastic Mecabricks importer for Blender, made by Mr. Jarraud. Go check out his website and try it out!

Thanks for looking, and look out for more possible collabs in the future!

I have been working on a 1/43 scale car for awhile now, and figured building an SC car could be a nice break from the work :)

I Haven't built something in this scale in over a year, and not a ton before that, so it was fun to just relax and try out some odd combinations. I have had the idea of using the books for a car side for awhile, and it worked super well on this model.

Let me know what you think about the model, any improvements I could make or if there is another type of car you would like me to try building :)

Also, If you like SC scale cars, check out vonErics. He has been uploading some pretty cool stuff :)

Thanks for looking!

Here is a better look at the Koenigsegg from my recent collab.

This will probably be the last car I post for the next few weeks, as I want to try my hand at the summer joust. But rest assured, there are many more cars still in the works :)

Thanks for Looking!

One of my builds that has been on the "back-burner" for a long time. This is the 550SC from Ford's F series, the biggest of the models available. A different build for me compared to my supercars, but a lot of fun.

Specs: It measures around 20 long, 7 wide, and almost 7 vertical studs tall. The inside of the Cab is so complex I can't really explain, so I may post a picture of it in the future.

As always, ideas or constructive criticism is welcome!

Thanks for Looking!

Here it is, the car I have spent my free time on for what feels like ages :P The Dodge Viper ARC, a powerful force in the world of US super cars.

I am going to layout how I built it, but first I want to thank vonErics and Ron_Dayes for their input on this one, it really made the model so much better :)

I started with a basic skeleton to get the width and length right, then started working out some ideas with Ron and Eric. After the that, the measurements were solidified at 13, with a 5 1/2 stud middle section to give it the correct look. I then worked on the front grill and the sides, wanting to capture the "bulbous" nature of the car. I had had the ice picks in mind since the start, and they worked out great! Then I put a back on it, and asked for some more critiquing. Yet again, some better ideas were brought up, and I incorporated them into the car. Then I finished up the top and added the wing. I spent the last week or so basically staring at it, making sure there was nothing else I wanted to add. I couldn't come up with

anything huge, so here it is :)

This was rendered using Blender and the Mecabricks advanced addon.

Thanks for Looking!

Went all out on this render. Thoroughly enjoyed building the scene and playing around with the compositor.

If you have been wondering why there has been a serious lack of cars on my page in the last little while, this is the reason. I have had this file for over 6 months, and the frustration with it has increased more and more. I finally just spent a few hours putting some of the sections together so I could put it up.

At this point, I would like to implore anyone who has read this far to comment any ideas or suggestions so that I can finally finish this car and move on to some other projects :)

Thanks for looking!

A current WIP I decided to render. I based it on some techniques I came up with based off of Ron_Dayes wheel arch design.

The car is centered around the 50's or 60's, 2-door coupes that a lot of people know and love. I just pulled a bunch of details off a couple and combined them.

I haven't posted in a month or so, because of some stuff I have been doing IRL. To be honest, I enjoyed the time away. It let me sit back and come up with some great build ideas I will be posting within the next few months. I am stoked to start building again and hope to continue doing so for awhile :)

Also, I have a question for anyone who wants to answer. I have been wanting to start a series lately (like the Harry Potter collab awhile back). I would enjoy hearing some suggestions for one :)

Thanks for Looking!

After working on some other car projects for hours, I decided to relax a little and build a Fictitious ^^ car.

Presenting the The Deluxe First Class Eco-Liner Extra, an absolute leader in high-class, luxury cruising. Step out of the past and into the future with the Eco-liner, which sports many new features;

V12 Engine!

Twin-Turbochargers!

Sun-roof, Moon-roof, and brand new Trunk-roof!

Roomy interior for up to 1 and a half people!

And of course, FOUR umbrella slots in each door!

This was for sure inspired by Alice Dee's cars, which you can find here :)

......If thou are not versed in the business of adventures, get thee aside and pray, whilst I engage these giants in combat.....

Taking inspiration from my favorite novel, Don Quixote, I chose the titular character as my Medieval Legend for CCCXVI. If you are not familiar with this section, our hero decides to do battle with a group of large giants. In reality, they are windmills, and he receives a highlight worthy upper-cut from one of their blades.

I have another entry for this category planned, and hopefully I will have it finished soon :)

This is my second version of the Lamborghini Egoista, a concept car made by the company. It is unlike any car I have worked on, but a whole lot of fun!

Build: So, this is a combination of both my old Egoista and a Sports car design that Ron_Dayes came up with (both links at the bottom). This version was a test of patience with LDD, and wishing that the align tool actually worked.

Render: After building it, I put it into Mecabricks to make some tweaks and add the Minifigure. From there, I imported it into Blender using the Advanced script, and then adjusted some of the settings myself.

Unless a new idea hits me for this build, I might call this one complete!

My old Egoista

More specifically, a 1983 Porsche 911 SC/RS Coupe.

Many months ago, I started working on a 911. After a few days, I pushed it to the back burner and all but forgot about it. Until yesterday when Ron Dayes uploaded his beautiful Porsche 991: www.flickr.com/photos/rondayes/38378267066/in/feed

It got me thinking about my 911 and I went and started digging around to find all of my old prototypes. And after some much needed tweaking, here it is.

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome! Thanks for looking!

This is another project I have been toying with for awhile. I had gone between a couple of designs. Then Ron sent over a new chassis design and it worked quite well.

Two things worthy of note are the windscreen and the color. I am aware that this color doesn't have enough IRL parts to build, but I liked the way it looked over the flat colors. I am also aware that the windscreen parts are not sold in clear. This is just the best thing I have come up with.

And a quick Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Thanks for looking!

Just something I thought up after watching the last two F1 races. Like him or not, it hurts to see a talent like Alonso driving for modern Mclaren.

Between the Medieval stuff, I have some info coming soon about a project I had been planning with someone ^^

1996 Daihatsu Midget II TypeR

This was a test of my patience to say the least. I got the idea to do one of these while playing one of the Gran Turismo games. However, I wasn't sure it was possible in this scale. Then I saw Sir.Manperson's great mini version and knew it was. This is what I came up with after a few different versions.

The whole thing is built on an offset bar and clip chassis. The front mudguards are minifig visors in between two old hinge pieces (IRL they would be cut a little). The windows are offset SNOT, a great idea from Ron Dayes. The front at the moment just slides into place, but I am working on a more secure connection.

Ideas and constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks for looking!

My first truck in this scale. I wanted to go with something a bit smaller than the usual Ford or Ram, so I chose the Datsun 520.

Build: My options were this and the GMC Cyclone, and I chose this due to its "work-truck" look. This was one of my most challenging builds so far, despite how simple it looks. It took around 2 weeks of work, but I think it was well worth it!

Specs: Being scaled down to 1/43, it measures 12 long, 5 1x1 plates high, and 5 studs across.

Reason: After doing mostly Super and Sport cars for quite a few months, I wanted to add some more everyday cars to my collection. Hopefully, this is just the first of many to come!

Thanks for looking!

After over a year of making mostly sports cars of oddities, I figured it was time for a basic sedan for the scale.

I based this off models like the 3rd gen. Fusion, or the Altima. I chose Paradisa because of the old TLG theme, and Redox is a chemical reaction.

Not much to write about this one, but I do have a question. Is there anything (type of car) any of you want me to try building? Feel free to post suggestions!

Yet again, Ron Dayes and I try to test of the limits of our scale. With him building the Renault TWIZY and myself trying the BMW Isetta.

Isetta: This was a tough build, for the obvious reason of size. There are just so many details I wanted that I couldn't get, but I think I can pretty close.

Ron's Twizy: When I first saw the build, I was really shocked by how close it looked to it's real life counterpart. The size, shape, and even the weird little headlights are all featured. Just a fantastic build and hats of to him.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out Ron's stream.

There have many projects I have worked on on-and-off for the past few months, but I have finally stared a quite big project I have wanted to do for some time. It will be a challenge, and may take a few months, but I can't wait to complete it.

Background:

About a week ago, Ron_Dayes www.flickr.com/photos/135487645@N05 and I were talking about how there are no good wheels for REALLy tiny cars. We decided to try building some tiny cars, using the hubs a the TT wheels as our full wheel. Ron made this awesome Smart that he posted a few days ago. I decided to make the Electric Renault Zoe.

The Build Stuff: This build was a struggle for me, trying to balance both simplicity and detail on something so small. There are quite a few wedged pieces on this model to make it nice and smooth (as smooth as possible for a tiny Lego MOC). The front was quite fun, trying to figure out how to connect those wedge 1x1s to the front while still allowing detail.

Conclusion, future stuff:

So yeah, a tiny car is doable! I am super impressed by the detail Ron put in his, and hopefully I can build some more of these cool little cars! And hopefully some other interesting cars coming out soon!

Thanks for looking!

BTW go check out Ron's builds, really awesome inspiration over there for any scale cars!

This little car marks a large change in both building style and time for me. My first version was the second car I built in this scale, almost 9 months ago. While I still look back on it fondly, it was far to big and had no detail. So, here we are!

Numero Dos: This little car has been in the works ever since then, and a lot of experimenting, in combination with other peoples ideas and techniques, led to this current design. And yet, I still see another version in the future :P

Technical Stuff: So, this was quite a downscale from my first. It went from 12 studs long to 10, 6 wide to 5 wide, and the height was increased for the body. It was a great lesson in the cramming qualities of Lego :)

So, with all that, I hope that in 9 more months I have progressed even further. Thanks to everyone for the ideas and views!
