This just seems like the day for them.

I had received a last minute invite to go on a Botany outing with friends on this day. The walk was led by Gus Yaki.

We went to a property west of Calgary known as "The Rusty Bucket".

There had been a fair amount of rainfall so the humidity caused issues with my camera. I found it difficult to get a focused photo.

This was a very delightful property and the hosts Liz and Alan Breakey were extremely welcoming.

We saw many forms of fungi. We even saw a small frog. The gardens on this property are a delight.

.....home of punk rock pastry. Go there....tomorrow....seriously. We had tickets to the Fancy Food show at McCormick Place. It was filled with lots of large specialty type food companies and samples - and a couple of great little Chicago businesses. This is Vinny Garcia and he was serving up samples of the most unusual and awesome brownie I've ever eaten - the Oaxaca brownie. Nice rich chocolate taste to start - then the flavor changes, there's pepper in there, and another change...what's that?...another kind of pepper and spice. Simply awesome. They're at 2018 W. Chicago Ave.
