Clerodendrum thomsoniae, commonly called bleeding heart vine, is a twining evergreen shrub or vine. It usually blooms during the warm months and provides showy white flowers with dark red corollas giving a striking contrast. The foliage is smooth-edged, oval and 6" long. A common houseplant in cooler locations.

One of my garden favorites! I saw this on June 3, 2020 as I enjoyed a walk around a friend's yard. It was my first social visit since I sheltered from COVID-19 on March 13th.
The Bleeding-Heart Dove get this name from a splash of vivid red colour at the centre of their white breasts. On first sight it is hard to believe that the bird has not recently been wounded. This is also partially due to a reddish hue extending down the belly, providing the illusion of blood having run down the bird's front.

Found this on a rotting beech tree on a trail along the Turkey run. When they are young, if you nick their stalks they will bleed hence the name haematopus.
My Dicentra - or Bleeding Hearts - is in its third year now. The first year it had an accident, someone stood on it and that was that for 2015. Then in 2016 it came up with gutso, and now in April 2017 it's looking beautiful with large amounts of arms hanging with many pink hearts.
These do not grow every year in the garden for some reason, but when they do appear they are truly beautiful flowers. This is a re-edit of a previously uploaded photo.

Lamprocapnos spectabilis (bleeding heart or Asian bleeding-heart) is a species of flowering plant in the poppy family Papaveraceae, native to Siberia, northern China, Korea and Japan. It is valued in gardens and in floristry for its heart-shaped pink and white flowers, borne in spring. Other common names include "lyre flower" and "lady-in-a-bath. The name ‘Bleeding Heart’ comes from the appearance of the pink flower, which resembles the shape of a heart with a drop of blood descending.
This year they have lots of lovely blooms. Perhaps because I removed a huge Oat Grass from directly in front of this plant... or, maybe it is the type of weather so far... who knows with plants. Gardening is a guessing game most of the time.
This is one of the many photos I took.. trying to get some interesting views of the blooms... bleeding hearts all look a bit "x" rated to me.... What would Freud say about me??
