My very first counted work, given to The Boy for Christmas 07.

The front of the Practical Blackwork Anniversary Sampler, just past the halfway point!

I hemmed each of the pieces of the shirt first with matching white thread, and then did the black blanket stitches around the edges, and to connect the different pieces to each other.

Am working up a pair of cuffs in the blackwork design from Holbein's 1537 portrait of Jane Seymour using linen and red silk thread. Am about 4 hours in, at the moment. These will be another prize for the 2011 By the Book Pennsic Rapier Tournament.
