Alphabet made from Quicksilver app.

The first link I get for each letter.

A collection of Gripping Beast, Foundry and Blacktree figures.

on my computer, i launch photoshop using ctrl+alt+space and then typing "photoshop". it's a quicksilver thing.

today i lazily hit enter after only typing "photo", and the computer launched photobooth instead.

so all of a sudden, to my complete surprise, there's me looking back at me, propped up against some boxes. so i decided to upload it.

we've gone for a red/silver/black kind of theme with hints of purple ;)

I made a crappy wallpaper for my desktop, based on the awesome freeware app for the Mac OS X, Quicksilver. Quicksilver is so much more than an app launcher, it's a power user's paradise and keyboard fanatic's heaven! Grab it here. Learn some Quicksilver tricks here, here and here!

I open everything via Quicksilver so my dock is hidden away and only ever hosts open applications. This then is my dock showing my most commonly used apps.

I find that the contents of a person's Mac OS X Dock can be very revealing.

Here is a screenshot of my typical Dock: Finder, Dashboard, Fogbugs, Prefs, Terminal, Camino, Adium, Safari, Firefox, NetNewsWire, iTunes, Preview, Fireworks 8, iPhoto 5, and the all-powerful TextMate.

Everything else, I open via Quicksilver. I keep these in here for drag-and-drop access or because they're pretty much always running.

What's in your Dock?

Quite possibly one of the best meals I've ever had, and in the back of a strip mall in Burlington. I had Foie Gras with spring rolls and rabbit dumpling, and gnocci with morels and a potato ball filled with chocolate and delicate potato chips for desert. My wife had honey lemon hen and passion fruit duck breast. Very cool atmosphere, they played old 50's superman shows on the wall on the patio outside. You don't have to go to Toronto for an incredible meal. Chef Matteo Paonessa changes the menu each month.

One of my favorites

This is one of the niftiest new features in Snow Leopard, and I have no idea why it's not on by default - lets you see the files in a QL'd folder. It will flick slowly through the thumbnails of whatever's in there in a loop.

You can enable it, as I did, using the Secrets prefpane from Blacktree. Found here: secrets.blacktree.com/

Thee inglorious Blacktree Barberia

A seemingly radical interpretation of ‘barber shop’ -- might be interesting.

When I lived in San Diego in the late 1990’s, I had a small house (they were affordable then) on the edge of the South Park neighborhood. The nearby area along Fern and 30th, between Juniper and Hawthorn, was a commercial district then, but struggling. I don’t recall what was in most of the buildings because they weren’t things that interested me, but they clearly weren’t the creatively defined ‘artisanal’ cafes, coffee shops, and service businesses that now line the stretch – and attract customers from outside of the neighborhood.

In this picture: Wayne Adams

(second from left).

The team made a s'more type dessert, bruleeing the lollypop like dessert before service. Alas, there was chocolate in this one. But it did stop many curious folks to taste/try.
