PRUDENCE BLACKTREE

Born with the eyes of a black cat, it's said that the witching hour extends round the clock for lovely Prudence Blacktree.

According to the marker at the base of the tree, there is a special kind of mold that grows near a distillery that forms on the exterior of the trees to make it black.

I used iCalBuddy and a nice little script that I found over at Mac Os X Tips to pull iCal events and to do items onto my desktop. I use QuickSilver to (among other wonderful things) add events and to do items without even opening iCal, which saves me a lot of time.

I just love my Mac.

Wow I love Quicksilver, It allows you to upload multiple pictures to Flickr with tags with out even opening an application or going to the Flickr site.

Check out the The Merlin Show today's episode has quicksilver tips

I choose not to use my Dock in OS X, and instead opt to put things I need to keep handy in the menu bar. The result: too many icons! In order from left to right:

While reading Clive Barker's book "Abarat Absolute Midnight" I was very inspired by a couple of things he wrote, one was a passage about a tree, copied onto the yellow piece of paper. The other was: some of the words he chose- I made a list of the words and kept it- it's copied onto the black strips of paper. Here is the passage: "A tree appeared in her head, driving away the gloom: a living tree with lemon-white blossoms and a canopy so perfectly blue..."

The background of the image is book paper torn from an Italian short story book, painted blue and silver and stitched together with silver thread. (If you have read the books, you know the relevance of stitched bits.) The tree is torn pieces of black and white polka dot paper- the edges are inked in silver. The flowers are made with 5 die-cut leaves (these were my daughter's idea) in lemon white paper. The words are silver ink on black and the passage is black ink on yellow notebook paper.

These living leaves, still attached to the tree, seek to imitate the appearance of fallen wet leaves rotting in a gutter.

Here is my super-simple Firefox installation.

I started with the Chromifox 2 theme to replicate the superb look of Chrome. I then used a user style to hide the stop button unless needed. I then hid the bookmarks and other toolbars. (I access all bookmarks with Quicksilver) Finally, I cleaned up almost all the icons and search boxes (I just use the main box for search).

Nada mejor que terminar el mes con un nuevo wallpaper.

on my computer, i launch photoshop using ctrl+alt+space and then typing "photoshop". it's a quicksilver thing.

today i lazily hit enter after only typing "photo", and the computer launched photobooth instead.

so all of a sudden, to my complete surprise, there's me looking back at me, propped up against some boxes. so i decided to upload it.

we've gone for a red/silver/black kind of theme with hints of purple ;)
