Taken in the Blacksmith's Shop

Another big THANK YOU today to the 'Looney Bishop' for the excellent day out !

I got one rein a bit longer than the other, but it's not too bad.

Another early nineteenth-century structure on the property, this fully-furnished blacksmith's shop still functions today.

Vanellus armatus

A common lapwing in southern Africa. So-called because of its tink-tink-tink call like that of a hammer striking a blacksmith's anvil.

Upon looking in the busted windows evidence of a blacksmith shop and a very basic car repair shop, divided into two bays.

One of a pair of Blacksmith Plovers (Vanellus armatus), at the Vermont Salt Pan, very alarmed that I am standing close to their nest and eggs, taking flight to distract me and lead me away, screaming their high-pitched alarm call.

This fire-belching Snail Car is the work of blacksmiths Jon Sarriugarte and Kyrsten Mate of Empire of Dirt.

Jens is an extremely talented blacksmith. He has been forging for over 20 years and approaches his skill as an art. He firmly believes in the importance of all the elements working together and the respect of the flame and intent as he forges blocks of iron into beautiful masterpieces. Whether its the hard iron ore or soft bronze and delicate steel, he understands the metals and their needs and uses his experience and knowledge to create his work. It has been such a pleasure getting to know him and Clara and working with them as he demonstrated his craft. I am also proud to say that he used several of my photographs from our recent shoot for his new brochure advertising his business!

nice work!

Bursledon Brickworks is an industrial museum run by a team of passionate volunteers. Once a month they fire up a collection of steam engines that used to run the machinery in the works. They also demonstrate traditional crafts. This blacksmith is creating scrolls from mild steel bars, which will ultimately become part of a gate

This is my third approach to that construction. I had an issue with the shape of the upper floor of that building, but it is finally done :) I’m happy that there is a feature with glowing bricks. When I started that MOC that feature was unavailable.

I rendered a lot of different shots, so I will probably add two post of that blacksmith’s workshop.

Regarding that scene. You can see a lot of work there, two experienced blacksmiths are working hard and one younger journeyman is grinding the blade. Other worker is on the first top. There is always a chance to sell some weapons to some unexpected group of adventurers :)

Regarding the group of adventurers, do you see that group on the road? I was inspired by one old RPG video game. It was one of the most popular games of that type. In that year or next will be released the third part of that title. Small question for you, do you know what game title I mean? :) Please leave a comment if you want.

Blacksmith Lapwing - Vanellus armatus

Fort Bridger Rendezvous, Fort Bridger, Wyoming

May 1st. I was off re-enacting at Chiltern Open Air Museum (not far from home, so not camping). When taking part, although there are many subjects for photography, there are limited opportunities for taking shots, as there is strictly no photography whilst in costume. I managed to grab a few photos before I had to go and change... cavaliers to fight and all that....
