For a swap on Swapbot. This ATC had to contain something from nature. I chose a dried pansy sticker - it is a real pansy. I made a window in the front of the ATC and collaged the front with a few papers and a flower which was cut from a piece of scrapbook paper. I added some tiny beads in shade of purple. I then made the background behind the window from a piece of what I think is rice paper (it's actually two pieces of this paper, I only had a small scrap) which I colored with watercolor pencils and painted to blend. I put the sticker on the rice paper and glued the sticker/paper combo to the back of the collaged piece.
Mixed media is so much fun!

Found a great folk group busking in Salisbury yesterday. They are called Three Penny Bit. Great to see some young musicians having so much fun playing for each other as well as the crowd
Back in 1990, when i was 13, my father gave me an Atari 800 xl. This is a (very) Basic program I made using the highest graphical capacity of 300x190 px.
In a tv, the output seems to have pixels in white, red and blue, but the graphics is actually made in just one color.
Bits for our wishing tree, and our programs on the cheap. Interesting, my side 'got' the references to other sci fi but his side only knew Star Trek :)
It has now become a bit of a tradition - every few years, I head to Scotland, grab a rental car, and then cut northwest. This year I flew straight in to Inverness, then wound out toward Skye before looping up towards Durness and then back down to Inverness. The route, partially made popular by the "North Coast 500" is bringing a bit more traffic to the area, but with a bit of creative exploration there are still lots of great untouched areas and quiet back roads to wander.

Was driving home from work earlier and was three cars behind a serious crash. I ran from my car and me and another man pulled a fella from a smashed up car. I realise now that one should not remove injured people but he was hall out his window and was struggling to get out. Also the car was smoking and fluids from the engine leaking out everywhere. I thought it wad going to blow! Another car was smashed up and in a wall the other side of the road and another car smashed into the one whose occupants i was helping. The passenger had to be cut out by firemen. It was a serious crash with a few ambulances, fire engines, and even an air ambulance. Not the sort of thing one expects to see on a 30 mph zone! Blimey! Hope they are all ok!

1960 thrupenny bit - part of 'Charity' sculpture.
First exhibited in 2003 in Hoxton Square park, ‘Charity’ (2002-2003) was on display in the City of London as part of 'Sculpture in the City' 2015. The 'Sculpture in the City' initiative - 2015 was its fifth year – features contemporary works from leading artists, set amongst London's iconic architectural landmarks.
‘Charity’, a 22-foot bronze sculpture based on The Spastics Society (now ‘Scope’) collection boxes commonly found outside local chemists in the 1960s, was installed on Undershaft in front of the Gherkin (30 St Mary Axe, EC3A 8EP) next to St. Helen's Church. The sculpture was originally displayed as part of Romance in the Age of Uncertainty, Hirst’s solo exhibition at White Cube in 2003 and in 2012 was installed on the balcony of the Royal West of England Society in Bristol. Monumental yet vulnerable, the work plays on the art historical tradition of depicting the Virtue of Charity as a single female figure.
Hirst has long been a supporter of Scope, a charity that aims to improve the lives of disabled people in the UK. On the occasion of the installation, Alan Gosschalk, fundraising director at Scope, stated: " 'Charity' is an iconic piece of art. It is also a symbol of changing attitudes to disability over the past 50 years, since collection boxes like the one depicted in this sculpture were seen on high streets across the country ... we hope that this sculpture will encourage conversations about disability amongst people in our capital."

Bit of a grab shot this one. I turned to see this little chap leading his mum a merry chase toward the beach. I got two shot off of which this is the better one. I love the similarity in the strides as they mirror each other perfectly. Taken at Newgale Beach in Pembrokeshire West Wales.

With this ISO 100 photo from a Canon 40D the results are less obvious than with the ISO 800 photo from a 450D. 8 bit again is not enough with very obvious posterization artifacts. 9 bits gets very close to the quality of the 14 bit version but I think there is still a small difference which pretty much disappears in the 10 bit file.
The user interface of the Rawnalyze program is rather annoying. The program gives no indication if it accepted my command to reduce the bit depth. So it often leaves me guessing if the program actually did the intended treatment.
