A bit bored this evening so thought I'd have a goo and see if I could lightpaint a bottle and make it look like it's been lit by a multi-flash studio set-up.
It was three shots that's I've layered in CS3: www.flickr.com/photos/patmacinnes/6778125000/in/photostream/
The first is a straight shot where I've held the phone away from the bottle to get a semi-even covering of light. There's a nice highlight but nothing extreme.
The second shot is with the phone placed directly behind the bottle and held by hand, moving up and down slightly to get a good light spread and show the colour of the whisky.
The third shot is more about extereme highlights to give some additonal punch to the shot.

Drill bits used for cutting sit on a table at the 3rd Maintenance Squadron metals fabrication shop on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Jan. 27, 2017. The Aircraft Metals Technology Airmen measure broken or worn parts, draw working sketches, make templates, perform precision grinding and remove poisonous or corrosive deposits from parts, and write programs for machines using manual and computer-aided manufacturing. A bit of cleverness from the Schlaboratory, in the form a 3Dprinted pinhole camera that snaps together, without fasteners. 1 inch FL (25.4mm) shot at f/135, 6x6 frame.

Snaffle bits with different types of rings.
The rings on the outer portion of a snaffle bit function to position the mouthpiece and allow attachment of the headstall and reins. Variations in ring diameter and shape influence the location and intensity of rein pressure.

Good session at the Climbing Works with friends and then a cool ride home the 'long way round' !! :)
Two bits of keyring, on paper.
(HDR: both the single sheet of paper and that with the keyring on were processed using align_image_stack to generate an HDR image, tonemapped simply using Photoshop; both images blended in PS and then finished in Darktable.)
Yes, Space Gump's mech has buttocks to shoot at. Decided it would be too much for the action shot to try and fit that gag in as well but still wanted to show off these nice cheeks

I picked up artist Indigo Kelleigh's awesome 8-bit Tarot recently. It's a faithful reimagining of the classic Rider-Waite deck, illustrated in retro 8-bit graphics.
It comes with a button also! :-)
The 15-bit two-channel FlexSmart True RMS Current / Voltage Module accepts an input range of 5mV to 512mV and is compatible with 333mV FS output sensors. Field wiring is 2-wire via screw terminals.

This image is of several drill bits for the CNC machine. Post work done with CS2. This image is paired with the 'Green Onions Rain' in my series.
Enjoy!

Partnering with the Danish Museum of Science and Technology, InfinIT, a Danish network for innovative utilization of IT, Cotter (Laser Cutting Services) and VRKSTEDET (Underbroen) we created a Bits & Beers to kickstart our newest venture - a series of workshops called "From Old Patents to New Prototypes".
Our theme was 'crazy inventions that can change the world' and our speakers included some very special people who have contributed to our world!
Some of the people joining us included:
Jesper Vind, CEO at Future Electric
The company makes state-of-the-art electric motorcycles, with increased maneuverability and acceleration.

Christian Liljedahl: In collaboration with a small team of experts, Christian invented the Pulse Jet Concert, by playing with the pitch of the sound of the pulse jet by changing the length of the pipes. An incredible auditory experience!

Bent Stawski: Specialist in design and manufacturing of advanced scaled mechanical models such as steam trains, steam engines and other mechanical equipment.
Vincent Seremet: Aviation designer and military test pilot with a wide range of aeronautic designs and inventions: gyro-copters, rocketpropelled parachutes, jet packs, phantom wings, etc.

Christian Hansen & Steen Lærke: Specialists in miniature model building. Both scaling, engineering and electrical function associated with advanced model building.
Per Nielsen & Mikkel Posselt: Specialists in combustion engines and can get anything up and running, including the Hammelvogn, built in 1888 by Hans Urban Johansen at the Albert F. Hammels machine factory in Nørrebro.
Finn Helmer: Engineer and previous co-owner of the Electronic company Giga, Finn will talk about startups within inventions, and how to increase your chances of success.
Terje Lade: Manager at Ladeas and developer of the project Vindship, a hybrid merchant vessel for sustainable sea transport.

And a F-16 Jet
The Danish Museum of Science and Technology has a F-16 Jet on loan, and Bits & Beers guests were welcome to get up close and personal, and even sit in the cockpit!

A day trip to Lincoln - most of the way was very flat but Lincoln city has quite a hill from the shopping centre to the cathedral
There is always a bit of nostalgia of the fine summer days when walking in a public park in the heart of winter. The park Tête d'Or in Lyon, is one the largest urban park in France (117 hectares, 290 acres). Located in the northern part of its 6th arrondissement, the park hosts the Botanical Garden with remarkable tropical green houses, as well as a lake on which boating takes place during the summer months. Due to its beauty, it receives a huge number of visitors over the summer; it is a frequent destination for joggers and cyclists, not there in this afternoon of January 2025.
I brought along my year-1976 Olympus OM-1 MD film SLR that is one of my preferred camera of my collection (see bellow for details). The camera was equipped of its standard lens G.Zuiko Auto-S 1:1.4 f=50 mm and loaded with a Rollei RPX 400 film which is the former formula of the Agfa APX 400. I like this film giving a large tone range and quite good image densities even in low light.
Except for the last five frames done at night, the lens was fitted with a generic yellow 49mm screwed filter. The light metering was done through the lens (TTL) using the camera built in lightmeter and/or my external lightmeter Minolta Autometer III with the 10° viewer for selective metering privileging the shadows zones or with the integrating white dome for incident-light metering. The weather was mostly covered with intermittent misty sun and ±1°C.
Pause in a coffee shop along my way back, January 20, 2025
Rue Vendôme
69006 Lyon
France
After completion the film was rewound and processed using 350 mL of Adox Adonal (Agfa Rodinal) developer prepared at the dilution 1+25 for 12min30 at 20°C.
Digitizing was made using a Sony A7 camera (ILCE-7, 24MP) fitted to a Minolta Auto Bellows III with the Minolta slide duplication accessory and Minolta Macro Bellow lens 1:3.5 f=50mm. The light source was a LED panel CineStill Cine-lite.
The RAW files obtained were inverted within the latest version available of Adobe Lightroom Classic (version 14.1.1) and edited to the final jpeg pictures without intermediate file. They are presented either as printer files with a frame or the full size JPEG's together with some documentary smartphone color pictures.

About the camera :
My Olympus OM-1 MD was purchased from a local photography shop in Lyon, France, May 31, 2022.
Olympus OM-1 MD was commercially available from 1974 to 1978 and represented the fully mechanical SLR of a new class ("miniature SLR's") , smaller and lighter than any other SLR's of that time. It prefigured the size of most of the SLR's of the 80's.
The kit included the normal lens G.Zuiko Auto-S 1:1.4 f=50 mm in perfect condition, a Zuiko Auto-Zoom 1:4 f=75-150 mm with Olympus original rigid case, a Sigma Tele-Macro x2 converter, a small flash Olympus PE200 (GN 14 at 100 ISO) with case, A Crystal Titanium x 0.48 wide-angle converter (still never tested), and several 49 mm filters.
This specific OM-1 MD was constructed in Jan. 1976 according to the printed reference "ス ("su ") 615" on the back of the film plate.
