THIS was in the mail today, unannounced and unexpeted! It is fantastic!
Park this in front of a cosplay/loli gathering and you would see huge lines form. Actually, if this truck showed up at a doll meet they'd be cleaned out, because they specialize in very tiny little bite-size cakes and whatnot. Very kawaii. Just right for your dollieh to pose with, and for their faithful human minion to nom after the shot is done.

A Black Swan Event (def): an unexpected high impact occurrence, yet one which, it is later concluded, was 'bound to happen'.
It is early. Very early. Those who are game find a reason to get up and out, whilst those who are not snooze on. Up on Collie’s Reach two strangers' paths cross. You know how it is: you get chatting, make conversation, to be polite. As it transpires Meryl and Jamie chare a lot more than their appearances betray. Buried misunderstandings come home to roost as the two realise that some wishes just won't fly.

In the chic neighborhood of Palermo Viejo, we enjoyed a sumptuous meal @ La Cabrera, the best parilla (grille/steakhouse) in BA. This picture doesn't do justice to what my wife deemed as, "one of the best meals ever!"
It was our 1st day in B A. We'd already feasted at the highly acclaimed Las Lilas in Puerto Madero for lunch so we were looking for something lighter for dinner. Enticed by our guidebook, we went looking for a restaurant specializing in empanadas, the bitesize, spanish calzones. To our chagrin, it was closed for renovations, so we ventured up a few blocks to find a line out the door to La Cabrera. Lucky us!
My wife ordered a sirloin and I, the modestly sounding porkchop. Her 20 oz sirloin (left) and my trio of bone-in porkchops (right) came out steaming on a butcher's block w/ no less than 21 ramikins of sidedishes. Most memorable were the stewed cherry tomatos --sweet and tangy and simple. Needless to say, the meat was grilled to perfection, juicy on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside. We just couldn't figure out how Argentines eat like this everyday and still look so good.
The waitstaff even invited us to sign a plate to hang on the wall. Must've been all the 'oohing and aahhing' we murmurred throughout the meal. Look for the one commemorating the year of the pig (lunar calendar) in broken spanish.
Now that's the way to end the 1st day to your vacation...

450 g chicken breasts
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame seed oil
Salt and pepper
Half inch of ginger
6 cloves of garlic
Bunch spring onions
1 green pepper
1 1/2 tbsp fermented black beans, rinsed
1 tbsp Chinese rice wine
200 ml chicken stock
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tsp cornflour
Method
Mash the rinsed black beans in a bowl with a fork, and blend the cornflour and stock together.
Chop the chicken into bite sized pieces and marinate it in the soy sauce, sesame seed oil and salt and pepper while you prepare the other ingredients.
Chop ginger finely, chop garlic into chunks, top and tail the spring onions and slice them diagonally and then cut the green pepper into bitesized chunks.
Stir fry the chicken until cooked through, remove from wok and set aside with any liquid that’s leaked from it. Stir fry the green pepper the same way, allowing it to colour slightly.
Drain off excess liquid from the wok and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Now stir fry the ginger, garlic and spring onions until they release their scent.
Add the mashed black beans, stir fry for a few seconds, and then add the Chinese rice wine, the oyster sauce, and most of the chicken stock and cornflour, blended together. Cook until the sauce has thickened and is boiling, stirring all the time to prevent lumps, and then return the chicken and pepper to the pan. Taste the sauce to check whether you need to add the rest of the stock. Continue to stir fry until the sauce is the consistency you like – if it’s too thin you may need to bubble some of the liquid away.
Serve with plain white short grain rice.
