While swimming in a pond I felt sharp bite on my knee. It took a while to figure out what bit me, but we're pretty sure a snapper turtle tried to make lunch out of my knee.

I friggin HATE mosquitos!! Wow...so I was just gettin some gas in north Jersey and my head started itchin. Sure enough I got a mosquito bite right smack on my forehead, and within a minute or two, it swelled up just like EVERY mosquito bite I get. Bring on the Benadryl, please!

Bree will back me up - she'd just handed me a box of rats, as she is wont to do from time to time. The pups were gathered around and all excited. I turned to take the box out to the Ratz Carlton (our rat colony), when Isis, our big dumb loving ridgeback, out of the blue, sank her teeth in my calf.

Most of the yellowing is from the betadine, and the black mark is from the bandage adhesive...

Still not entirely sure what's up with Isis...

This was the last bite back in October I think it was. I forgot to take a pic of this one when it happened but, it behaved the same, with swelling redness, the messy blood leaking out of it. But this healed up a lot quicker and didn't do the rotting a hole in the flesh like the others...maybe it was a small (baby) brown recluse?

I have since been spraying the house and fogging it. We had a mild winter so I didn't buy as much fire wood as last winter. But still...firewood carries spiders...BEWARE!
