The 10 Bit LED Sign is a personal project to create an analog LED sign. It uses an LCD screen as the source. Photodiodes arranged in a (10X10) grid read the light output from the LCD, then directly output to each LED on the sign. There are no electronics, other than LEDs, Photodiodes and lots of wiring.

This photo was taken yesterday as the floods rose. The fence is our boundary. It’s a screenshot because there was other info I don’t want to share.

album- bit.ly/2Jd3B8l FOUND: white neutered male dog found on meadow ridge lane in #Conrich. taken to the calgary humane society. No tattoo or microchip. Pls RT & share to find this guys family! YYC Pet Recovery shared Chelsea Meyers's post. #yyc and area friends, please help this fluffer find his home. This super friendly white pupper (neutered male, likely a poodle cross with something) was found on meadow ridge lane in Conrich (just east of calgary), shivering and soaking wet, around 130/2 pm and was taken to the calgary humane society at 3pm. No tattoo or microchip. Only tag is an expired rabies tag. (more photos on my Facebook page) the NE animal clinic vet in rundle/rindlehorn drive is where the tag is from and they (illegally) don't keep the records properly or else we would've been able to identify the owners from the rabies tag - PSA to stay away from that clinic 2018-07-10T21:30:40.000Z by YYC Pet Recovery original fb post-click here bit.ly/2NHLpre July 11, 2018 at 01:11AM bit.ly/2BxTYim iftt Upload public photo from URL

I took this photo close to where I live in Vágur, Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. I am not sure about what kind of insect that is. Can somebody please tell me what kind of flying insect that is? It remindes me of the wasps in Tórshavn, which came to the Faroes a few years ago. But they are not common in my island.

The flower grows wild, this one grew close to a road with almost no traffic - some 100 metres altitude. The flower is called "Devil's bit Scabious" in English, according to my book: "Faroese Plants - HNJ's Indispensable Guide to the Faroe Islands". The Faroes name is: Blákollur or Líragras. In Iceland it is called: Stúfa. In Danish: Djævelsbid. Flowering time is in July and august.

This set was taken (with a long lens) from my kitchen. It was about late afternoon winter light.

Taken standing at the edge of the pond looking down...

HSS everyone!

The first 1k group lead by Karen and the second 3k group where lead by Demi, who where both from the Pals of the Privies community group. While I fallowed Terry from the Darkwood crew whose 5K walk ringed Ferguslie park while trying to avoid the main roads for safety and where I shoot these photos before heading back to the green. Here we had lunch, played bingo as the kids bounced around in the inflatable castles and all had a great time…

Bit of a surprise to find this, one of the old 'undefined' street nameplates in metal with raised lettering, still in situ. It has survived presumably because it is fixed to a private building, and removing it would require permission, and making good afterwards.

Just a few arterial roads in the town are like this, not featuring the coloured 'district' strip below the street name.

Compare this with the more usual style seen: www.flickr.com/photos/_notes/4596163099/

Isle De Jean Charles, Louisiana

Terrebonne Parish

This is the bit of land left on the road leading to the Isle.

The Isle De Jean Charles is a special, magical place. You feel blessed to be standing on it's land when there. The bounty and beauty of life lived close to the land intertwined with the tragic loss sustained by coastal erosion by industry is beyond compare.

Isle de Jean Charles is a narrow ridge of land between Bayou Terrebonne and Bayou Pointe-aux-Chene in Terreboone Parish, Louisiana. It is home to many members of the Biloxi-Chitimacha tribe. The Indian population on Isle de Jean Charles today is approximately 230 persons in 60 homes. It has been affected by the inevitable subsidence of South Louisiana. It lies past the 72-mile Morganza levee system built by the Gulf of Mexico Hurricane Protection Project. Because of this, it is gradually disappearing into the Gulf of Mexico. (wiki)
