Looking every bit as special as it is, celebrity 40013 heads north just after clearing Wichnor Junction whilst running light engine from Crewe to Barrow Hill. The loco had been held before the junction and at least one crew member got onto the four foot to get a picture

This is a bit upstream from my previous waterfall picture. We had to climb down that hill on the right side of the picture, but all in all, it wasn't so bad. And it was definitely worth it for the angle. For this shot, I had to walk across the stream on top of the two logs there. On the way back, I took another way though, because my cousin moved the logs when he went over (and yes, he did get his foot wet).
Manual blending of 3 exposures done in Photoshop. They were processed in Adobe Camera Raw 5.6 before being blended. Afterwards, I just added a curves adjustment layer, and a saturation adjustment layer.
Image made from 3 exposures + tone mapping, wanted to achieve studio like shot.
The secret is, that the bottle and the ice are over a glass surface, with a light at the bottom.

putting out some of my favorite little bits in my new apartment:

After having a the bulb in my ear last week, I thought I would do a bit of dissection this evening, to see the inner workings of the bulb.
Bit of an early upload today, but I took a cool pic and edited so I wanted to upload it.
Also it's stopped raining now but I can see clouds a-comin...
I think I'm watching Halt and Catch Fire tonight with Lauri, mostly I'm v excited for our fabric shopping trip on Monday :D

I go into hospital for my dupuytren's surgery tomorrow morning at 7am. So I am trying to get all my friends trip up before I have only one hand to work with. Then I will only have right hand to work with and I am left handed!

Lake Tekapo on one of our stops on the way back to Christchurch. It was a dull overcast day but very calm and warm.

Lake Tekapo is the second-largest of three roughly parallel lakes running north–south along the northern edge of the Mackenzie Basin in the South Island of New Zealand (the others are Lake Pukaki and Lake Ohau). It covers an area of 83 square kilometres (32 sq mi), and is at an altitude of 700 metres (2,300 ft) above sea level.
The lake is fed at its northern end by the braided Godley River, which has its source in the Southern Alps to the north. The lake is a popular tourist destination, and several resort hotels are located at the township of Lake Tekapo at the lake's southern end. The Lake Tekapo Regional Park, administered by Environment Canterbury, is located on the southern shore of the lake.
An astronomical observatory is located at Mount John, which is to the north of the town, and south of the small Lake Alexandrina.
