just a summer pic down by the creek ... Biscuit is watching a little wire-haired border collie cross "Millie" who was keen on saying hello to me, then encouraged away by her owner. I think Biscuit was just making sure she didn't come back and harass me for his treats hahaha

February 24 is National Dog Biscuit Day, and this guy is making the most of it! Forget about picnic baskets!
Did you know that the first dog biscuits, invented in 1860, were based on the recipe for sailor’s hardtack? At the time, 50 lbs cost roughly an average day’s wages. These biscuits eventually became what we know today as Milk-Bones.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I always love to find a subject here with the columns and steps providing some great lines in the image. I love the little details of her map, skateboard and packet of biscuits building a story. Enjoy!
Took this photo on my first afternoon in Yellowstone last year. What a great start to the trip! This photo was taken in the Biscuit Basin and of the blue opal pool.

Elektra is constantly bugging Biscuit, he is a little too tolerant and so gentle, here he gets excited and has to jump over her to avoid stepping on her as he escapes her teeth
standing on the little community-built bridge over the creek.
the rains have made this little creek impassable since the council removed the old bridge, just downstream a little from here - according to the local rag the original bridge was never sanctioned and since they've started a little Creek maintenance scheme removing unwanted (non-native) trees and planting a whole bunch of natives (complete with ugly plastic green weather-protectors for the poor little saplings) they decided that the old bridge was a safety hazard (really only because nobody had done an WHS evaluation before putting it in place I'd guess).
Anyway, so someone's obviously decided to put another temporary measure in. It's pretty sturdy with star-pickets on all 4 corners. I like that Biscuit was happy to follow me across the plank rather than jump or wade through the creek to join me on the other side, Saxon was happy to splash across the creek :-)
Hello amazing Flickr people!
Today is a blue day at Color My World Daily Group and biscuits are our heroes at Looking close on Friday.
And when we talk about biscuits or cookies, what is the best place to enjoy them without any guilt? The outer space, the ultimate frontier, of course!
First of all, when you are on a mission in space you feel very light ! there is no gravity so you are just floating there like a very light balloon…you can eat as many biscuits as you wish ! and you will never feel bloated or fat ! Weight is so overrated in space! And there is no point of counting calories either! Since you are wearing a space suit all the time, you don’t have to worry about your bathing suit body!
Second of all, you really, really need cookies in space! Usually you are all alone or almost alone (and after so many days in lockdown, we all know how it feels to have less or no human contacts!), so you need some kind of comfort food to make it through your mission! And biscuits are perfect for that! Biscuits are also very easy to transport, and they don’t take as much space in a shuttle as, let’s say, a huge piece of ham (yes, I love ham!).
Third point; if your biscuit breaks in pieces, don’t worry !! all the pieces will float around and you will be able to grab them very easily !! biscuits crumbles are the most delicious space junk out there, for all the astronauts to enjoy!!
So, treat yourself a biscuit with a glass of milk today! It is Friday after all, and we all deserve it! Not only the astronauts!!
See you later! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!!
One of the residents here came out to visit the other day while I was working in the garden. She has been amazed by these big hibiscus flowers and she asked again what they were called.
Yesterday, she came out again while I was watering, and proclaimed loudly that she just loved those biscuits!
Photo taken for the November 7, 2022 Macro Mondays theme: biscuits.
I've been thinking about savory snacks recently, so naturally my thoughts turned in that direction for this week's theme. I hadn't had Chicken in a Biskit crackers for many years, but I remembered liking the taste, and the name goes nicely with the theme.
I was surprised to discover that they actually do have chicken in them, although it must be a miniscule amount, given the position of "dehydrated cooked chicken" in the ingredient list - after MSG, baking soda, and onion powder!
The full cracker is about 1-3/4" wide, and the holes are spaced approx. 3/8" apart.
For the record, I prefer my biscuits/cookies crispy. :D
I got a new computer this week, it's been a challenge with the new lightroom, and a complete mess of files where they shouldn't be, but mostly the fact that my speakers aren't working, well they are working, recognized, but failing to provide any sound that's driving me to complete frustration and distraction - I can't seem to sit at the computer atm without trying so many different things and restarting it about 1/2 dozen times, and getting up 3 hours later none the wiser!
anyway, I was aiming for a "catch" shot this week with Biscuit, but this was the best one I got - will have to try again :-)
the edit is crazy, I hope I can settle into lightroom a little easier soon
