Another great afternoon at Polesden Lacey with Alan Greehalgh's bird of prey collection.

This Ferruginous Eagle was badly injured by being kept in a budgie cage. Luckily it was rescued from that person and is now healing pretty well except for some missing/broken feathers and a crooked leg which would need broken and reset to fix.

I started my day off early at Starbucks and then spent the rest of it in the woods stalking wildlife. First I visited my Barred Owl friends and spent about a couple hours with them. Then I visited to Bald Eagle nest. The eagles were soaring up high today and did not land while I was there. this was the best shot I could get. I did enjoy watching them soar on the thermals.

last minute afternoon out.. arrived in time for the last demo of the day (3pm)

“Eagles: When they walk, they stumble. They are not what one would call graceful. They were not designed to walk. They fly. And when they fly, oh, how they fly, so free, so graceful. They see from the sky what we never see.”
