In 2018 I had a day out in Northumberland with wildlife photographer Alan Hewitt.

Looking for some help with ID on this one. Not sure if it is a whistling kite or maybe a square tailed kite. Either way, it was remarkably tame sitting quietly at the river edge, allowing me to get within a few metres.
Had the most awesome day at Claire Carter and Hawkeye Bird of Prey Photography Workshop in Thoresby Park. A privilege to get close to such beautiful birds and I learned such a lot about bird photography that I hope I can put in to practice in future. My photos (just a few here out of 100s I took today) are pale imitations of what is achievable but I'm happy with (some of) my efforts with limited kit.
Managed a few sightings of this beautiful raptor and was surprised at how low it flies This was the closest |I ever got
