For how I did this. I was at an estate where they also grew these flowers on a patch of earth. They had chopped a few off to sell them off to the traders. I set my camera to the settings I wanted, then held one flower in my left hand, and clicked using my right. The BG was a nice dull sky. So, the original has the flower in the foreground and a uniform bluish-grey BG. I later used Picasa and bumped the highlights. That is it. That was all the processing I did. Thanks for asking.

The red-billed leiothrix (Leiothrix lutea) is a member of the family Leiothrichidae, native to southern China and the Himalayas. Adults have bright red bills and a dull yellow ring around their eyes. Their backs are dull olive green, and they have a bright yellow-orange throat with a yellow chin; females are somewhat duller than males, and juveniles have black bills.
