Street artist Urbanimal Jean pastes up images of Birds of Paradise in Bondy, France. To highlight deforestation in the Indonesian province of West Papua.
Second flower arrangement my girlfriend made for a class. Used a hard light from speed light and used the shutter speed to darken all the ambient light.
Arrangement has Heather, Lillies, and Birds of Paradise.

This is the original image I made of birds of paradise flowers and two sculptures in the backyard of our San Francisco home. A cropped version is in the next slide. Though the two versions of the same digital image are very similar I feel the subject of this first image are the several birds of paradise flowers making the two sculptures being incidental, whereas the following slide seems to accentuate the two sculptures with the flowers filling in the photo. I shot each using my Canon Powershot SX50.
The first cruise since December 2019 due to Covid 19, we visited familiar places along the California coast for 7 days. Tried to capture some unusual pictures. Enjoy.

A large pale wheatear. Gray-brown above with warm orangish tones on white underparts and a pale white eyebrow. Tail is predominantly black with white edges and it contrasts sharply with its snow-white rump. Somewhat similar in coloration to a toned-down female Northern Wheatear, but visibly larger, shorter-tailed, and longer-billed (all of which are accentuated by the typically tall, erect posture). Inhabits flat, open areas, often at middle to high elevations. Remarkable song has a tumbling quality that includes long ringing whistles, chattering, and imitations of other sounds in the surrounding environment. Calls include shorter whistles and hard “chak’s,” like rocks being struck together.(e-bird)

A rather dully plumaged songbird of fields, grasslands, forest edges, and farmland; often sparsely spread and difficult to find. Gray-brown above with a pale belly and blackish streaking on head and wings.
