Possibly a kestrel; but this bird of prey was flitting from tree to tree and this was the only photo I could get!

I love this movie! I have the dvd, and have watched it at least 5 times. (I'm kind of embarrassed to say it's really been 10 times!) The birds and the images are just lovely, and there may be more to come from this!
The Zebra Finch, Taeniopygia guttata, is the most common and familiar estrildid finch of Central Australia and ranges over most of the continent, avoiding only the cool moist south and the tropical far north. It also can be found natively in Indonesia and Timor-Leste. The bird has been introduced to Puerto Rico, Portugal and the U.S

This South African native is a garden favorite with its ease of culture and all around toughness (although frost tender). The very showy flowers are long-lasting and bloom several times a year with the peak bloom time being in early Spring. Hummingbirds are big fans of the flowers. Only five species in the entire genus....the official flower of the City of Los Angeles.
