The vast majority of my wildlife photography over the last few months has, for obvious reasons, been in my small edge of town back garden. Although I have had the occasional visit by long-tailed tits in the past I hadn't seen any during the lockdown period until yesterday afternoon when I had a group of at least twelve spend an entertaining half hour or so on the feeders.

Ezra's SP last week. I didn't get around to editing it until the other day. And I didn't really like how my first edit turned out so I made a few changes. I'm still not fully happy with it, but it's much better compared to my first attempt. It's very similar to her Week 4 self portrait (the one where she is summoning a dragon).

This week we found a baby owl in our garden. We placed it in our bird cage because the dogs or cats will definitely kill it. It looked really weak so we contacted the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) to take care of it. They came over to our house and picked it up. They told us that it was a Scops Owl and that it was still a baby. I hope that baby owl is doing well now, it was really cute.

Thanks a lot to my sister for taking my picture and editing it!

My bird bags over the years with frequent washings have diverged from their original colours of white, red and yellow and evolved into this confectionery mix. First visit at our winter site produced 62 birds - off to a flying start.

Last weekend we had a huge winter storm lasting 48 hours and dumping about 2 feet of snow. The following day was clear and sunny, so I decided to head out with my camera to take some winter shots. In Dufferin Islands Park I came across hundreds of ducks and a couple of geese on the shore as they couldnt access the water because it had been frozen over.... several other people had stopped to feed them.

I waited in my backyard blind for over two hours this morning to get this quality image of a White-Breasted Nuthatch with a beautiful fall foliage bokehed background. Right when I was ready to hang it up and call it a morning, he moved into position for the shot. Man these guys move fast!

The flora and fauna of Ladakh was first studied by Ferdinand Stoliczka, an Austrian Czech palaeontologist, who carried out a massive expedition in the region in the 1870s. The fauna of Ladakh have much in common with that of Central Asia generally, and especially those of the Tibetan Plateau. An exception to this are the birds, many of which migrate from the warmer parts of India to spend the summer in Ladakh. For such an arid area, Ladakh has a great diversity of birds — a total of 318 species have been recorded (Including 30 species not seen since 1960). Many of these birds reside or breed at high-altitude wetlands such as Tso Moriri.

I didn't notice the other photographer until I was looking back through these photos. I guess he had shots of me. I'm glad I wasn't wearing a bikini, those would have been some scary shots!

Sorry I have been a little negligent getting to everyone's photos after the holidays, I had company and then I have been working on my new project, a real honest to goodness blog (not really photography related--altho of course there will be pictures). So, I will get to your pictures, just slowly. And now, I will shut up! :)
