Hugh Herr showing off his latest powered ankle as part of his artificial legs. He told a story of when he made a set legs each 1" longer and everyday he would increase his height - he was nearly 8 feet tall before others noticed. Super Human.
Saturday afternoon is perfect for toy repairs. Recently I bought a Bionic Woman Sports Car (loose no box and lacks accessories) for display as I already have mint unused, decals still on the sheets but it will be left untouched. I found out that majority of decals on this one are photo copies on thick paper coated with cello and glued in place. However overall it does not look that bad for display. One major flaw it came with is right front wheel with damaged paint.
So I decided to touch it up. Masking and airbrush painting took 8 minutes in total being masking alone took 6 minutes. When fixing old toys one golden rule is to know when to stop. If the repair is too perfect and too clean fresh looking it won’t blend in with the rest of the toy. Good excuse for being lazy I admit but it works fine that way most of the time. Overall I am happy with this repair job : )
Happy weekend to all...... and a loving mothers day for those who have children and a fur/feather family,
My garden was deigned with orange and purple as dominent colours.
I hadn't realized until then that the new torches are not traditional pitch/pine anymore. This torch looked like it had enough mechanical bits to run a small spaceship!
But is was worth getting up that early to see. The day before was so jammed with tourists that getting close enough to see this would have been problematical at best.
