The Bright magnitude 6, binary star system (HD 138268) appears from behind the Blood Moon. It is on the right edge of the moon. The other bright star to the upper left is visible as well.

Another image from a great morning a couple of weeks ago. Slightly different angle, and seemed to work well in black and white.

So LBLP beat me to making the Binary Sunset scene from Episode IV. He saved me a lot of time by sending me the picture for the scene here. Thanks Luke!
Christmas lights in a mirror box. No real reason. Was bored one night. Can't decide if I like it or not.
Last September when I attended the Astronomy Photographer of the year awards ceremony I found out this image won me the 'Skyscapes' category. I still can't really believe I won and it was a great experience for me, I was quite happy just being shortlisted let alone being one of the winners.

Quilt made with leftover scraps from this quilt.
Inspired by Film In The Fridge's Flying Farfalle quilt to use up nearly every last scrap from my prior quilt. Finished size approx. is 35"x46."
Did you know that more than half the stars in the Milky Way galaxy are thought to be binary star systems? Interesting, eh?
Been a bit difficult to get out and shoot the last several days. But I did manage to go out on Sunday and hiked the Falls Brook Trail. I've been to the falls a few times and heard there was a second cascade, a little further downstream. But there was little to no reference to it online and due to the very steep terrain, the trail ends at the first falls. Beyond that, it requires some difficult bushwhacking. Anyhow, I decided to venture further down the hill side which would likely require ropes to access if it were any steeper. What I discovered was an even larger cascade about 100 yards further down stream. Got some long exposure stills, 360 spherical panoramics, videos and even managed to squeeze the drone up between the trees for a few aerials. This shot was with the 360 camera (I'm hiding behind the big tree on the right).
