When I first noticed these tiny pink mushrooms (the largest was less than 5mm in diameter)... my first thought was that they must be female. Because blue is for males and pink is for females, right? Hah hah... how binary of me. :)
But gender isn't really a fungal thing. While most creatures (and all mammals) have only two recognized genders (male and female)... I've now learned that some species of fungi can have thousands of sexes! It sounds confusing right? But with so many variations, the fungi can mate with every other individual of their species. How convenient is that!?
In a world where every woman has to look the same, love the same, feel the same, act the same. This is a reflection of why portraits don’t need to show woman with a full face of makeup, airbrushed to perfection and proof that we are not and should not be all the same.
The Winter Circle asterism shines brightly on a crisp clear night and reflects in the mirror like surface of Sulby Reservoir. Reflections like this are surprisingly hard to come by for astrophotography on the Isle of Man, because even the very slightest of air movement will disturb the water surface. The Island is quite a windy place generally, so I was blown away (forgive the pun) by how good the reflections were on this particular occasion. The little cap of mist around the summit of Snaefell and favourable alignment of Sirius with the hills were nice little bonus features. This image is a 5-image vertical panorama stitch taken with my 28mm prime which is my main astrophotography lens. Staring into the endless stars reflected in the water was like looking into another world ✨

I felt like I should lighten the mood. It's been looking pretty gloomy round here lately.

One and zero: binary for on and off. "There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't." ;-) HMM.

My last from my visit to Elterwater and River Bathay. Just love that pinkish light on the snow capted mountain and clouds.
1Aquarii and Mercury shining so very bright before dawn today.
Took the chance for a weekday sunrise over Bass Point and the Shallows today, the sea mist was so thick when I arrived you could barely see in front of yourself with the head torch on.
Caught a few tasty moments, had my Vita Brits while I waited for the JetBoil to do it's thing and just enjoyed the dawn with a nice hot cuppa...
Technically this moment is near dark still but, thanks to the wonder of digital sensors we're able to see the dawn how I'm seeing it in my minds eye at the time.

# Still obsessed with fragmented adolescent memories, Alice, and binary solar systems -- since a majority of stellar systems are binary, I simply need to deduce which one I grew up in. I have been reminded periodically of the suggested existence of a " twin" to G2V, the sun in this system. If that is in fact correct, it's probably a dwarf and IR telescopes are currently searching for it. Irregardless, it's probable that mine is another system... I've always known that! ;-}
The Bright magnitude 6, binary star system (HD 138268) appears from behind the Blood Moon. It is on the right edge of the moon. The other bright star to the upper left is visible as well.

Another image from a great morning a couple of weeks ago. Slightly different angle, and seemed to work well in black and white.
