The Mackinac Bridge (pronounced mak-in-aw) is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the non-contiguous Upper and Lower peninsulas of the U.S. state of Michigan. Opened in 1957, the bridge (familiarly known as "Big Mac" and "Mighty Mac") is the third longest in total suspension in the world and the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western hemisphere. The Mackinac Bridge carries Interstate 75 and the Lakes Michigan and Huron components of the Great Lakes Circle Tours across the straits and connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south.

This beautiful bridge spans the Straits of Mackinaw from Mackinaw City, Michigan to St. Ignace, Michigan, connecting the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. It opened in 1957 at 26,372 feet in length, then the longest suspension bridge in the world. To withstand the strong winds often found in the Straits, a unique construction was used in the deck construction. The road deck is shaped somewhat as an airfoil, which provides uplift--that's not necessarily a good thing in high winds, so a countering element was utilized, an open grid deck design on the interior lanes, with a predicted stability in winds up to 150 mph.

This was for a good friend of my Daughter, Lee, he helped post all my 'new business' leaflets last year.....So i promised him a cake!!
He is having tea at Mcdonalds with 20+ of his friends and requested a 'Mcdonalds' cake!! would you believe he is turning 16!! haha All the others have gone to lovely restaurants for their 16th, but he just loves Mcdonalds!!
The Burger cake is Chocolate, as requested!! and the Chip's are sugar cookies....i saw this idea for fries ages ago and cannot find where i saw it now!! thought it was better than using sugarpaste.

I love going to mc donald's. even if I prefere burger king lately. I think it's beacause going to the mc donald's we have here in giugliano is totally exhausting. there are children everywhere, and when you ask a crispy mc bacon, they haven't becon, if you wanna a big tasty, they haven't it.. it's boring -.-"

VEGETARIANS, scroll past this one...
MEAT LOVERS, just stop pretending that chicken or pig is OK, but this is different!
And YOU, shouting animal rights slogans while you stuff your face with a BigMac, have some sauce with it!
I'm not saying it's right! This is how it is...

I made a slight variation on the Big Mac: I used ground chicken instead of beef. What makes this sandwich is the sauce, and with that you simply cannot go wrong.
Side note: this was a keto friendly version with a low carb bun, and no sugar ketchup in the sauce.
FANCY DRESS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you like this one, and i hope i have not offended anyone who has or does work in a fast food joint.
D200, Sigma 10-20mm, SB600 & 800, old cap from 14 years ago, when a friend worked there for one day and left and a cold burger that i went out at lunch time to get as a prop and i have had to keep hidden from the cat.
after yesterday's Champ, today i'm featuring the big mac, macdonald's prime burger. well, comparatively, the champ looks more photogenic and attractive. now, don't get me wrong i'm a big mac fan since the days and i'm just presenting it the way i receive the burger and big mac will always be my go to burger. taste wise, well, it is very personal and subjective although i give champ an edge because of the extra trimmings the burger comes with and the champ seems to be juicier too and slightly heavier in weight. the champ is also slightly more expensive , which i've always considered odd, considering that macdonalds is an imported brand while jollibee is a local brand. anyway those are my opinions. so, if you happen to have a jollibee branch in your area it would interesting to give the burgers a try and let me know what you think
One early winter morning sitting on the Kentucky side of the river, looking back at the Big Mac bridge.
This is what it looks like now. It used to be a quiet rural part of North Lancashire. The lane has been like a farm track with dozens of potholes ever since it began 6.5 years ago. At last the road has had new tarmac laid this week. It has been very difficult living here with all the mess and noise by the constructors, but it has nearly finished. Just the pavement to do I hope. I should point out that there were green fields, trees, hedges, wildlife, birds, crop growing and sheep in these fields before all this - now all this has disappeared.
It may not seem like it, but I appreciate that new houses have to be built, but why on green field sites when there are plenty of brown field sites lying empty.
There have been no extra facilities for the large increase in the population. The roads cannot cope, no new doctors, no extra police, no new schools - but we have gained a Subway and, I believe, we will soon be able to buy a BigMac!! All this passed by Wyre Borough Council.
I should also mention that amongst these houses there are not many that would be affordable to first time buyers. There are, however, a substantial number of large detached houses.
